Today we’d like to introduce you to Lori Inman.
Lori, please share your story with us. How did you get to where you are today?
We met through church, became friends. We both shared a background in retail & styling, We were both stay at home moms that wanted to use our talents to help women find their sense of style.
We both have a heart for empowering women to love exactly who they are while helping them look their best. We decided to start this business to help create a safe space for women to shop, get styled and get an honest opinion about what works on their body & for their lifestyle, all while getting a VIP experience of private showroom & personal styling.
Great, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
No. There have been numerous obstacles, which we have tackled with a unified outlook on our goals to empowering women through fashion. We have grown organically, and strive to be patient with ourselves as we learn how to navigate being entrepreneurs.
Please tell us about Flora+Mia.
Flora+Mia is a small business specializing in women’s fashion. We offer personal styling, personal shopping, concierge styling services and by appt only shopping of our curated lines of ready to wear fashion. We are both proud of working with other entrepreneurial businesses owned by women.
We are also proud of creating a space for everyday women to experience VIP styling services. What sets us apart is the personal relationships we establish with our clients, getting to know them and creating a community where women feel empowered.
Do you look back particularly fondly on any memories from childhood?
Luisa grew up in the big city of Bogata, Columbia, I grew up on a farm in a small village in Nebraska. We grew up in completely different settings but we both agree that our favorite memories have to be spending time with our families.
For Luisa, getting to walk to cafes, local parks and the buzz of the city. For me it was being on the farm, being outside every day on the land helping my family grow food to eat and share.
