Ernesto and Ernesto, let’s start with your story. We’d love to hear how you got started and how the journey has been so far.
As an immigrant from Mexico, I began working odd jobs until I was able to land a job as a Jewelers Apprentice. After gaining experience there, I was introduced to the pawnshop business and decided to give it a try. I was able to work my way up from employee to manager. After managing a store for over 12 years, I was able to save up enough money to start my own pawnshop. My son and I have been running this store since 2013.
Overall, has it been relatively smooth? If not, what were some of the struggles along the way?
The journey was not an easy one. There were a lot of setbacks along the way. We made a lot of financial sacrifices as a family.
Alright – so let’s talk business. Tell us about Pawn360 – what should we know?
We are a pawnshop that gives out collateral loans. We also sell used goods as well as repair jewelry. We have a huge selection of tools and we have fine jewelry at a really affordable price, as low as a third of what you would pay for the same item at a jewelry store.
We are family owned and operated so we work really well with our customers and understand them when they call us and need extra time on their loan payments. We do not wait to put customer items out the next day as so many pawnshops do, and we are very negotiable when it comes to prices.

My family has been my backbone and support every step of the way. My oldest son, who is also a part-owner, has been a tremendous help in managing the store. My daughter comes in after school and helps part-time with our online sales as well as day-to-day transactions at the store.
