Exploring Life & Business with Austin Reimold of Mi Amor nightclub

Today we’d like to introduce you to Austin Reimold.

Austin Reimold

Hi Austin, so excited to have you on the platform. So, before we get into questions about your work life, maybe you can bring our readers up to speed on your story and how you got to where you are today.
I’ve always been very entrepreneurial. I started my first business at 14 and made 15k during the summer. And have had many of types of businesses. This club started because I saw an opportunity with the Latin club market in Houston. And was going out myself a lot. So, I decided to go for it. I wanted something unique and different from everyone else. My girlfriends always called me Mi Amor, and I loved it so I went with a love concept. That embodied love and feeling the joys of life.

Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall, and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
There definitely was a learning curve like anything new. But, like my other businesses. I dived into it and learned the ropes very quickly. This business has had its challenges but if you work hard and get the right team, you can accomplish anything. I work 120 hours a week, and my girlfriend has stepped in as manager. We are truly partners and make everything happen. So our customers have the best experience possible.

As you know, we’re big fans of Mi Amor Nightclub. For our readers who might not be as familiar, what can you tell them about the brand?
I’ve done pretty much all, from landscaping to senior care to shipping and call centers. My career has not been traditional in any way. But I wouldn’t choose any other way. At 26, I’ve accomplished so much. And always looking towards the future for many more success. The part I enjoy most in business is the challenge and starting something new. I have given so much up for this. But one of my favorite quotes is a Dave Ramsey’s “live like no else to live like no else,” and that’s has kept me going through the pains.

Are there any important lessons you’ve learned that you can share with us?
The has been so many lessons along the way. But a couple that come right to mind. One always watch your numbers and expenses. Every penny adds up. Another one is never stop being creative and elevating your product or service. And the other is your people are your best asset, and to treat them great and have the right people. Your team is everything and people you trust.
