Rising Stars: Meet Briana Huff

Today we’d like to introduce you to Briana Huff.

Briana Huff

Hi Briana, thanks for joining us today. We’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.

The vision was created, then followed execution. Obtaining a Bachelor of Arts in Radio Television and Film from the Illustrious Texas Southern University, I began to be more serious during my collegiate journey; I used a scholarship to purchase my first professional camera. That’s when I came up with the name 24K productions which is a multi media company where we produce gold.

After that, that’s when I started doing videos for college parties, had a few clients here and there and decided to join the radio station on campus (KTSU) and even started working with the marketing department for the University. Around the age of 22, I got to shoot behind-the-scenes content for the BET College Hill reboot with India love, Dream Doll, Slim Thug and more. Ever since then I’ve always tried to use my connections & resources to get me into different doors to enhance my career.

I have gotten the privilege to shoot the Astro World Series parade along with covering music festivals like Summer Jam, and Honey Land Festival & Spotify unwrapped.
My goal in life is to be able to travel and show the world through my lens for those that may not be able to experience it. Growing up, I didn’t get to really travel outside of Texas, let alone my city. I would always watch TV and looked at all the pictures and the videos of things around the world and hope to be there one day. I’ve set goals for myself such as covering music events like BET Awards, Grammys & VMAS and fashion events such as fashion week, in Milan & New York. The Met gala, and even a Fenty catalog shoot. & getting into real estate and travel for companies to take photos of their properties, for example working for Air BNB and getting content for a property in Thailand. Lastly another goal was to even one day be mentioned in this magazine so to finally have the opportunity to get an interview is actually a surreal full-circle moment, and I am truly humbled and happy that I have been mentioned.

Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not, what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?

The road to success is never easy the journey is definitely a marathon and not a sprint. There has been multiple times where I have come into roadblocks, most of them have been mainly mentally and of course financially. Since I’ve started my career I noticed what I learned was called  “Imposter syndrome” thinking that I wasn’t good enough to compete with other creatives either at my college or just people I see in general on social media because of that there’s been times that I’ve wanted to give up or wasn’t putting myself out there, missing out on different opportunities just because I thought that I wouldn’t be able to perform.

As I grew further, I reflect on the things that I have done. I have learned that I should never compete where there is no comparison because I am my own entity, I am my own light, and I am amazing and I’m different from others because God has created me uniquely and wonderfully. That’s something my granny would always tell me as I was growing up.

And I think it’s important for all creative to know that it does not matter about the numbers, the reactions, or the engagement. It was a video that I saw once that had an analogy that was like you may post something on Instagram and not get a lot of likes, but your story gets a lot of views: meaning people may not show that they like what you’re doing but believe me everyone is watching you & they see you. So just keep grinding and just keep doing you. Sooner or later, it will pay off.

I’m still a small media business, so booking is not always consistent, or I don’t always close every person who comes my way, so I still try & fund my business the best way that I can & camera equipment is nooo where cheap. I would find myself still working three jobs at a time as well as working towards my college degree, so some of the times it was hard to focus solely on my business or still have the energy to keep going.

Despite that, I am proud of my resilience to keep knocking on different doors cause where there is one no, there’s always a yes somewhere along the way.

As you know, we’re big fans of you and your work. For our readers who might not be as familiar, what can you tell them about what you do?
I specialize in media production, mainly event and portrait photography, I have the ability to create & manage social media content, flyers, recap videos, and captivating reels as well as business card templates and more.

I would say I would be known for being where the celebrities are at because of one thing about it and two things for sure I’m going to get that shot I have a love for music so my goal is to work in the music industry hopefully soon ill be on tour with Drake & doing cover art for Brent Faiyaz and Ari Lennox.

So, if you take a look at my work on my social media pages on Instagram, such as 24k.productionss and Gxldenbee, you will see some of my work where I create lively reels & photo collages that resonate with my viewers.

I would say some of the things I am most proud of in the year 2023 would be having my work getting recognized and re-posted by R&B artist Miguel. and taking photos of THE Beyonce Knowles, and getting them published by radio one with my name accredited.

What’s next?
I think 2024 is going to be my year or at least a big year for 24k productions. I haven’t actually announced this yet, but I have finally landed my first event in the 2024 New York Fashion Week. Fashion week has been something I’ve been talking about since a child, so I’m really excited about that. I have partnered with a couple of studios as far as podcast and as well as photo studios so now I’ll be able to offer and outsource to my clients who are looking for video and photo Production needs.
