After 0ver 15 years as a cosmetologist, I decided that men don’t have as many options to pampering and grooming services that women do. And after discussing this with my business partner about how hard it was to find a good, old school straight razor shave. We realized how frustrating it was for a gentleman to be able to find a place where a man, could just be a man, and be groomed in a relaxing masculine Environment. So I decided to go back to school, become a barber and specialize in the straight razor shave. Which was a rarity in Houston, at the time.
Overall, has it been relatively smooth? If not, what were some of the struggles along the way?
It’s very hard to find a quality trained barber that can not only master Haircuts, but who can also perform an exceptional straight razor shave. I’ve had to personally train each and every one of our staff.
Please tell us about Shave A Gentleman’s Barbershop.
We specialize in luxury hot towel straight razor shaves. We are not your typical neighborhood barbershop. Although trained to master the haircut, we specialize in shaving focusing mainly on educating our client on proper techniques for shaving. while performing a relaxing straight razor shave.. We also are the only Barbershop in Houston that has mastered the mobile barbering shave events. We were invited by Visa to shave during Super Bowl, we have performed countless shaves for TV, golf outings, and, Movember Charity events, which is our way of giving back to the community
If you had to go back in time and start over, would you have done anything differently?
If I had to start over, I wouldn’t change a thing…I’m very satisfied with the environment we have created, and hope to see many fun years ahead of us.
