Hidden Gems: Meet Chantelle Clarke of Chantelle Sells Houses LLC

Today we’d like to introduce you to Chantelle Clarke

Chantelle, we appreciate you taking the time to share your story with us today. Where does your story begin?
My story begins in Jamaica, where I was raised. At 16, I moved to Houston, seeking opportunities and a fresh start.

I began my professional journey as a business major, where I discovered a natural talent and passion for sales. Over the years, I’ve honed this skill through various multi-level marketing (MLM) companies, including Herbalife, Avon, Mary Kay, Enfiniti Global, and Ambit. Regardless of the company, I consistently emerged as a top producer. I even founded my own herbal supplement company, “Sensi Nutrition,” which thrived until I decided to explore a new path.

A significant chapter of my career involved working in drug recovery funding for a large Houston hospital for about eight years. In this role, I assisted indigent patients, ensuring they received necessary medications and maintained affordability. This experience deepened my understanding of the healthcare system and reinforced my commitment to helping others.

On January 1, 2021, I welcomed my daughter, Emory Elizabeth, into the world. Her birth was a life-changing event that reshaped my priorities. The job I had at the time lacked a good work-life balance, and I wanted to be fully present for Emory. This led me to pursue a career that allowed me to be a full-time mom, earn a decent living, and leverage my sales expertise.

However, something was missing. While I had my daughter and my new career, I felt the absence of community. To reconnect, I joined the Houston Caribbean Professional Association. I currently serve as the Community Liaison and Chair of the Give to Serve Committee, roles that enable me to lead, give back, and earn the trust of my community as a respected professional.

My journey from Jamaica to Houston, and from business major to community leader, is a testament to resilience, passion, and the power of community. I am grateful for the opportunities and support that have brought me to where I am today.

Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
Adjusting to life in a new country was a significant challenge. Moving from Jamaica to Houston required a lot of resilience and determination as I adapted to a new culture, environment, and educational system. The journey wasn’t easy, but it set the foundation for my future endeavors and helped shape my character.

Redefining myself as a new mother and a professional was perhaps the most significant struggle. After the birth of my daughter, I faced the challenge of balancing motherhood and career aspirations. MOM GUILT ON 10000%. It required considerable effort and sacrifice, leading me to seek opportunities that would enable me to be present for Emory and still thrive professionally.

Entering a new career that is highly competitive while still being able to excel was another major challenge. It came with obstacles such as navigating market competition, managing finances, and building a brand from scratch! #ChantelleSellsHouses. Despite these challenges, I have grown into the resilient and passionate professional I am today.

What were you like growing up?
Growing up, I was a very bright child. I was extremely talkative, as curious as ever, and was ALWAYS in trouble for asking too many questions! Young Chantelle was extremely competitive, if there was a possibility that I could win, please believe I was practicing to do just that. I was apart of the spelling bee numerous years, sat on the quiz team on a local televised show to represent my school, AND MORE! I loved to dance, play the drums and my recorder. I went on to represent my school in both dance and music competitions. I was pretty darn good if you ask me, my teachers, or my dad.

(Typing this brings me so much nostalgia)
