Today we’d like to introduce you to Andrea Sanchez
Hi Andrea, it’s an honor to have you on the platform. Thanks for taking the time to share your story with us – to start maybe you can share some of your backstory with our readers?
Since I was little, I was fortunate to have a father who was always a very active person. Following his example, I grew up constantly practicing some form of physical activity, but it was during high school and college that I began to dedicate myself more deeply to gym workouts and running.
For various reasons, I chose and graduated with a degree in Industrial Engineering, but it wasn’t until my two daughters were born that I decided to go back to school and obtain my certification as a Fitness Professional, along with titles such as Corrective Exercise Specialist, Performance Enhancement Specialist, and Youth Exercise Specialist through the leading and well-known National Academy of Sports Medicine (NASM).
I began to work on my own, offering in-home training sessions, and soon after, I was invited to collaborate with a group of orthopedic specialists at the best hospital in Mexico City. This is how I began helping many people rehabilitate and gain back strength after accidents, surgeries, and/or injuries.
Ten years later, I can proudly say that hundreds of people have gone through my programs, achieving excellent results and with several outstanding success stories.
Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
It is never a smooth road. As in any project I have had ups and downs, challenges and obstacles that come up and are part of life, but the important thing is to learn from that and be able to keep going and not give up.
A major challenge I could mention is managing to keep up with the house, kids, schools, exercise, and trying to develop and grow my business. The most valuable asset we all have is time, and it’s the one thing we can’t make more of to cover everything we would like to.
We’ve been impressed with Pro Training, but for folks who might not be as familiar, what can you share with them about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
My company’s name is Pro Training, and its main focus is online training. Through an app, I create and deliver fully personalized programs to each of my clients. Each training plan is carefully curated for each individual, considering their physiological needs, as well as time and equipment they have available.
In collaboration with the orthopedic group from Hospital ABC in Mexico City, I specialize in rehabilitation, strengthening, injury prevention, and/or muscle imbalances that lead to aches and pains, ultimately helping people improve their health span, both now and in the years to come.
I am really proud of the dedication and commitment I put into each client and each training plan. By choosing to connect with and commit to me, people will experience something truly transformative – something that goes beyond just a fitness plan.
What do you like and dislike about the city?
Houston’s thriving arts and culture scene is a true delight, from theater, opera, ballet, museums, and diverse exhibitions, there’s always something new to explore and discover. Whether you are a fan of classical performances or contemporary art, Houston’s vibrant cultural landscape has something for everyone, ensuring a constant stream of inspiration and entertainment.
One area for improvement in our city is to enhance public transportation systems, allowing us to shift away from car dependency, ease traffic and breathe fresher air. Adding bike lanes would be a fantastic bonus, providing a sustainable and healthy alternative for commuters, and empowering citizens to a more active lifestyle.
