Exploring Life & Business with Anita David of Ashford & Parker Hair Studio

Today we’d like to introduce you to Anita David

Hi Anita, so excited to have you with us today. What can you tell us about your story?
I knew I wanted to do hair since I was 12years of age. Grew up between the Middle East and DC area. I complete cosmetology school at renowned school in DC after dropping out of college to pursue what I love to do. I’m now 20 years in and started my salon during the pandemic and have been open for 3yrs & 7 months. It was a long road to get here.

Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
It was very tough to do especially because I had the worst contractor and as a female not really having the support that most have. These past 4 years I’ve had all the obstacles thrown at me. Losing my cousin, my dad, running a business on my own, trying to find balance has been the toughest thing. I don’t think there is such a thing as a bigness owner. It’s not for everyone and I don’t encourage it lol. It’s something all entrepreneurs throw themselves into but is all a great learning experience. Learning to become a leader and all the things you don’t think about when you become a business owner. My love for interior decorating was brought more to the surface after the complete remodel of my new salon space with New York industrial loft vibes.

We’ve been impressed with Ashford & Parker Hair Studio , but for folks who might not be as familiar, what can you share with them about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
