Exploring Life & Business with Latoya Crick of Emerald Astrology

Today we’d like to introduce you to Latoya Crick

Alright, so thank you so much for sharing your story and insight with our readers. To kick things off, can you tell us a bit about how you got started?
My quest for understanding astrology started in January 2014 when I attended Maharishi University of Management (MUM), now known as Maharishi International University.

From what I can remember, I have always had an insatiable hunger to understand the meaning of life and human psychology and astrology turned out to be the perfect tool to explore this.

During my childhood and teenage years, I grew up in Freeport, Texas, and was greatly influenced by the mystics of my family.

Thanks to my family, I understood life through the Christian lens, but it did not fulfill what I desired the most.

I could not find an answer to my big question: “What is the meaning of life, and why do people function the way that they do?” So deep down I knew I needed more.

After arriving at University, astrology came to me.

While touring the dormitory, someone approached me and mentioned that astrology granted insight into a person’s personality, relationships, and life path, and since then, I have been hooked.

Although I didn’t go to university to study Astrology, I could not stop researching and learning more about myself, others, and the cycles of the Universe through this fascinating art and science.

Now 10 years later, I’m studying Hellenistic Astrology and excited to share my insights using the Ancient Ones techniques.

Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
It hasn’t been an easy road to travel. At the beginning I was skeptical because of my Christian roots and how it portrayed astrology as taboo.

Then after many years of healing and trusting my intuition, I literally took my business on the road from Houston to Seattle and back and had great success with it regardless of the many challenges that comes with traveling.

But at the end of the day for my lifestyle and business to be sustainable I decided to settle and focus on the Austin and Houston area.

Appreciate you sharing that. What should we know about Emerald Astrology?
I am a consulting Astrologer and Tarot Reader who empowers others to live a creative and fulfilling life with the cycles of the Moon and Stars.

I started my own astro-journey to understand the meaning of life and learn how to work with the cycles to manifest my dreams.

Through Emerald Astrology, I share insights about the Moon and Stars and how to work with the cycles to avoid burnout, increase self-awareness, and bridge the gap between spirituality and practicality.

My current offering that I am most excited about is the Year Ahead Forecast to help creatives and entreprenuers plan the year ahead so that they are successful with their personal and professional endeavors.

What sets me apart from other astrologers is that I’m studying Hellenistic Astrology and have participated in over 80 metaphysical markets and events at occult/metaphysical shops over the years and have an astrology podcast (Real Life Astrology) with Andreya of Universal Answers.

Any advice for finding a mentor or networking in general?
#1 Don’t be afraid to reach out and share what you offer, but before you do that, compliment the person about what you like about them (do your research) and ask how you can help them be successful in their goals!

#2 Go where you and your gifts are celebrated! Don’t be afraid to travel.

#3 Remember you are learning as you go, so collect data and do what works for YOU!
