Today we’d like to introduce you to Kat Jackson
Hi Kat, thanks for joining us today. We’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
I started the love of hair at the early age of 13. I would alway be in the mirror trying to do my hair over from my mother messing me up. So from there hair became near and dear to my heart. I got my license in 2009 but I did hair regularly starting at 19. I owned my own salon for 8 years and has since closed it. I now work at my good friend Tonya at her salon called Ntouch beauty salon. I’m also a hairstylist for the Disney, where I style the hair of Princess and prince and all the lovely characters at Walt Disney World. I’m an inventor and a patent holder. I’ve invented something that is much needed in this beauty industry. My love for hair landed me to be published in black bride and a few other magazines. I’ve done many red carpets styling of radio personality. Ive work doing hair is media and talents during New York Fashion week, Barizon,, Fox 35 News anchor, Star Jones, Gorilla the rapper. Fashions shows, Pro bowl and Super Bowl in Atlanta. look for to what’s next for me while embracing my now.
I’m sure it wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been fairly smooth so far?
No it hasn’t been smooth. Learning to manage a salon is different from just renting a. Booth. So much more is on the line with more financial obligations. Struggle was finding booth renters and keeping them.
As you know, we’re big fans of you and your work. For our readers who might not be as familiar what can you tell them about what you do?
I’m a hairstylist and makeup artist
I do all kinds of styles from cutting , color, weaving, relaxing, braiding I don’t think I have a certain one that i specialize in, I’m trying to be the master of many. That is what set me apart. I’m a multi cultural and talents hairstylist.
We all have a different way of looking at and defining success. How do you define success?
I define success by achieving goals and continuing to push through obstacles
