Alright, so thank you so much for sharing your story and insight with our readers. To kick things off, can you tell us a bit about how you got started?
I have always been handy ever since I was a kid. I would walk around the house looking for things to fix etc…About 5 years back, I started helping various friends and family members with their handy work needs. Especially with their media center. Mounting TVs, and connecting all the media equipment. So a lot of them suggested that I could turn my services into a business and make some extra income. Initially, I was skeptical mainly because I was thinking that not too many people have this need or if they do, it would be simple enough for them to do it themselves. But then I started getting more and more requests to mount TVs. So at that point I was more open to turn this gig into a side business. Fast forward a few years later, today I have an agreement with multiple apartment complexes in the Houston area and they share my flyers with their new residents. Big thanks to my sister Rudy for pushing me to get this journey started. She was one of the main people to encourage me to start a TV Mounting business and she is also the author of the name Exquisite TV Mounting.
Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
I would say it was fairly smooth with some minor challenges along the way. Mainly on the financial side, because as I was offering my services for a fee, I had to do a good and professional job. So I couldn’t just get by with the tools I was using to help my friends with their TVs. I had to invest some money into business grade tools. For example at first I was using an app on my phone to find studs on the wall. Needless to say that app was not very accurate and I messed up multiple times using that app. Today I have multiple tools to detect studs in a wall to securely mount the TVs. Another notable challenge was balancing the side business with my full time job. But thankfully today I have a great schedule and can easily accommodate my clients .

Do you have recommendations for books, apps, blogs, etc?
I use Audible to listen to books, or mostly I just listen to some sermons from my Church. Our pastor Dr. mark Amoateng is a great teacher and his teachings are always uplifting. For me, it is important to have a relation with Jesus so I make sure to either play a previous sermon, listen to a christian radio station, or simply just play some gospel music. That is usually how I get my day started, and it helps me do and be my best throughout the day.
