Inspiring Conversations with Jeremy Mickles of codename JAM Fitness

Today we’d like to introduce you to Jeremy Mickles

Hi Jeremy, it’s an honor to have you on the platform. Thanks for taking the time to share your story with us – to start maybe you can share some of your backstory with our readers?
When I was a kid, I have always admired the physiques of professional wrestlers and comic book characters. Because of it, I wanted to have a body like them some day.

In 2015, I started working out with my brother and in 2018, he convinced me to do a natural bodybuilding show. He gave me a meal plan and told me how often I needed to train. I got sixth place at the show. I originally told him that it would be the last time I’ll do it but as time passed, I told him I’ll do it again. The next year, I placed first and won my pro card. The following year, I did two shows where I placed fifth and third.

In 2021, I took the entire year off to make improvements in my physique to prepare for 2022. So in 2022, I did three shows in which I placed sixth, first (my first professional win) and fifth.

Currently, I’ve been taking a break with the thoughts of competing again once I feel like I’m ready.

Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
I wouldn’t call it a smooth ride but it wasn’t that difficult at least to me. I work early mornings at a physically demanding job and then immediately after work, I go workout. Sticking to the meal plans was the hardest especially getting close to a show because you get cravings being in a caloric deficit for so long.

As you know, we’re big fans of codenameJAM Fitness. For our readers who might not be as familiar what can you tell them about the brand?
I own an online fitness coaching business for anyone that wants to get in shape or needs nutrition guidances. What sets me apart is that I’m a no nonsense type of coach so I’m going to give it to you straight by eliminating the fluff.

The crisis has affected us all in different ways. How has it affected you and any important lessons or epiphanies you can share with us?
Take care of your body that way your immune system is as strong as possible. Be aware of people that don’t know how to behave during a crisis. Make sure your hygiene is on point.
