Today we’d like to introduce you to D’Ambria Jacobs.
D’Ambria, can you briefly walk us through your story – how you started and how you got to where you are today.
I was born in Tyler, Texas; I was raised in family-oriented environment where food was always the center of each and every occasion was an excuse to eat in her family. I decided to give that same feeling to the world. Over the past few years, Sophisticated Delights has turned timeless family recipes into sophisticated items, her clients rave about. I have been cooking and baking since 7 years old and don’t planned on stopping anytime soon. For the past 10 years I have enjoyed providing world class customer service and Stellar food, so naturally in 2014 Sophisticated Delights was born.
Overall, has it been relatively smooth? If not, what were some of the struggles along the way?
Everyday is an obstacle to tackle, but we have always managed to be blessed. I remember struggling with staffing and learning the language of the weddings world. But with 1 step at a time and a grilled cheese, I was able to get to the next day.
Please tell us about Sophisticated Delights.
We are a Luxury Southern Comfort Catering Company with some international flair, so no matter the meal, we can make it amazing.
I would say we specialize in transforming personalities into plates, Food is about a feeling, a moment in your mouth and if that moment doesn’t make you melt, it isn’t right. Our food is upscale in presentation and ingredients but comforting in tasting.
My Grandfather always told me all you have as a person is your word. So, I personally make sure that if I tell a client something I follow through with it. Because we are only as good as our word, I will always put every event as top priority each and every time. That is what makes us different, that is also what makes me proud that I am able to take the family values and traditions and give them to others, so they can have the same moments I did.
If you had to go back in time and start over, would you have done anything differently?
Honestly no, I had so many hardships but they made me stronger and a better businesswoman. I made mistakes and had many long days that ended in tears, but the journey is worth the finish line.
