Thanks for sharing your story with us Elizabeth. So, let’s start at the beginning and we can move on from there.
I started Be Bilingual in 1989 with $1,000.00, The first office location was in the 1960 area.
I was the only teacher, I taught Spanish using a method that I developed, as I taught I made changes and improvements to the curriculum. After a year I hired a couple of Spanish teachers and trained them to use the “Be Bilingual method.” The following year I hired more teachers and began offering lessons in the Galleria area. The new office was a step in the right direction. In the mid 90’s Be Bilingual was one of the fastest growing companies in the Houston area.
Has it been a smooth road?
I’ve had a few challenges in the past 28 years. The first one was growing too fast.
Second, Be Bilingual was one of the preferred language school providers in the 90’s for five major oil companies in Houston. Unfortunately, in the late 90’s these companies began merging and cutting back on training. This was a huge financial blow for me and Be Bilingual.
In the mid 90’s, I also experienced health challenges (breast cancer) which I believe was due to stress. Been cancer free for 23 years.

Be Bilingual provides language instruction, it specializes in intensive one-on-one teaching.
Languages we offer; Arabic, Italian, Portuguese, English, Accent Reduction, and Spanish.
We offer small (5 to 6 students) Spanish group classes in our office. For corporations, we offer classes at their location, private or group classes.
I am very proud of our Spanish method, and also of my professional and dedicated teachers. I am also proud of the good service and personal attention we provide our clients and prospective clients.
Is our city a good place to do what you do?
Houston is a wonderful and diverse city, I believe with dedication, and hard work most businesses are able to succeed in Houston, and for that matter, in most large cities, as long as there is a need for the services or products you offer.
