Today we’d like to introduce you to Leila and Carlos Peraza.
Leila and Carlos, please share your story with us. How did you get to where you are today?
Our dream had been to own a boutique of unique treasures and to engage with the community in an effort to share art and strengthen the cycle of inspiration.
After a few years in the hospice industry together with contemplative walks where we would talk about our shared future, came the realization of a change in lifestyle and contribution to our city.
The concept had a soul and the physicality sprinkled the aether, but we still needed a “space” where we could make all those dreams a reality. It must be because of our resonance that in those days (8 years ago now) a small vacancy for business opened which happened to be in our favorite part of town -Montrose.-
With little capital and big aspirations, we dove into a journey that has made of us a beautiful family, and a place for Houstonians and people from all over the world to visit for a handcrafted experience and a down to earth artist’s heaven.
Today we host over 200 artists and designers from all over the USA; people who believe in our message and families (who we are forever grateful for) excited to have in their city a place to lose themselves in art, community, and future.
Overall, has it been relatively smooth? If not, what were some of the struggles along the way?
Having a small business is always a work in progress and a constant drive to learn.

Handcrafted in the USA. We are proud of our word-of-mouth growth. We focus attention on displays: always evolving, and treating our store like a living breathing entity.
If you had to go back in time and start over, would you have done anything differently?
Nothing! 🙂 The way we are now is because of how we began.
