Today we’d like to introduce you to Erikka Ellerbee.
Erikka, we appreciate you taking the time to share your story with us today. Where does your story begin?
My journey into the beauty world began in high school when I joined the dance team. We always had to be stage-ready for games, pep rallies, and competitions, so makeup became a big part of my routine. I started teaching myself through YouTube and Instagram tutorials—just the basics at first—but I quickly fell in love with it. It wasn’t long before I was practicing every day, experimenting with new techniques, and building confidence in my skills.
What started as a hobby turned into a passion and then a purpose. I’ve always been creative—into singing, dancing, painting, and writing—so makeup naturally became another artistic outlet for me. Eventually, I found myself enhancing others’ natural beauty and realized how fulfilling it was to help people feel more confident and beautiful.
I launched my business, EverythingBeauty, to represent my love for all things beauty-related—makeup, lashes, brows, skincare, and more. I started small, booking one client at a time, but stayed consistent. Even when I was only booked once a month, I poured my heart into it. As I kept growing and stepping out of my comfort zone, I started getting booked more regularly.
As a single mom and new entrepreneur, it hasn’t always been easy, but the joy I get from my clients—their smiles, the transformations, the connections—makes it all worth it. I truly believe I was meant for this, and I’m committed to continuing to grow, learn, and elevate EverythingBeauty to the next level.
We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
It definitely hasn’t been a smooth road, but I believe every challenge has shaped me into the woman and business owner I am today. As a single mother and new entrepreneur, balancing motherhood, personal growth, and building a brand from the ground up came with a lot of pressure. There were moments when I doubted myself, moments when I didn’t feel supported, and times when I questioned if I was doing enough.
In the beginning, I wasn’t always booked consistently. There were slow seasons, times I had to push through financially, and times I had to encourage myself to keep going, even when I wasn’t seeing instant results. I also had to step out of my comfort zone, network, promote myself, and keep learning so I could improve my craft.
One of the biggest challenges was staying motivated when life got overwhelming. But I kept reminding myself of my “why.” I knew I had a passion for beauty and a vision for where I wanted to go. I leaned on my faith, stayed grounded, and let each small win fuel the next step forward. I’ve grown a lot—mentally, emotionally, and creatively—and I wouldn’t trade the journey for anything.
Thanks – so what else should our readers know about your work and what you’re currently focused on?
I’m a licensed esthetician, a 3x Certified Makeup Artist, and the founder of EverythingBeauty, a brand that focuses on enhancing natural beauty through makeup artistry, skincare, lashes, brows, and more. I specialize in soft glam and full glam makeup looks, brow shaping and lamination, as well as natural lash extensions and skincare services. I aim to provide a luxury experience while making each client feel comfortable, confident, and beautiful in their own skin.
I think what I’m most known for is the connection I build with my clients. I don’t just do makeup—I take the time to understand each person’s features, preferences, and desired look. I study faces and genuinely enjoy the creative process of bringing out someone’s best features in a way that still feels like them. I also try to make sure everyone who sits in my chair leaves feeling better than when they came in—whether that’s from a great conversation, a confidence boost, or just a peaceful experience.
I’m most proud of how far I’ve come in such a short amount of time. I went from just practicing at home to being booked monthly, working with a variety of clients, and building real relationships along the way. I’ve stayed consistent, taught myself a lot, and kept growing—even when it was hard.
What sets me apart is the energy I bring into every session. My work is a reflection of my passion, and I genuinely care about every detail—from the application to the experience. I’m not just in this for the trends—I’m in it for the transformation, the art, and the impact.
We’d love to hear about how you think about risk taking?
I definitely believe that taking risks is necessary for growth, especially as a creative and entrepreneur. I wouldn’t be where I am today if I hadn’t taken risks—some big, some small—but all of them pushed me to evolve. One of the biggest risks I took was choosing to pursue makeup and beauty full-time, while also being a single mother. There’s a lot of uncertainty that comes with betting on yourself, especially when you’re building something from scratch and don’t have a guaranteed outcome.
I also took emotional risks—putting myself out there, promoting my work, investing in products and education, even when I wasn’t sure if the return would be immediate. It’s scary to step into something new, especially in an industry that’s constantly changing and filled with talent. But I’ve learned that comfort doesn’t lead to success. Risk has brought me closer to my purpose and helped me build resilience and confidence.
To me, risk isn’t just about making bold moves. It’s about trusting God, believing in your vision, and being willing to take that leap even when the timing or circumstances aren’t perfect. Sometimes the biggest risk is choosing not to give up on yourself.
