Community Highlights: Meet Dai Henry of 10:4 Events & Weddings

Today we’d like to introduce you to Dai Henry.

Hi Dai, can you start by introducing yourself? We’d love to learn more about how you got to where you are today?
When I was in high school, my mentor had an interior design and event planning business. I had the chance to work with her on a wedding and a few other events, and that’s when I realized how much I genuinely enjoy this kind of work. She had so much confidence in me that she would actually leave the event once the clients made their grand entrance, she trusted me to handle everything from there.

Two years later, in 2020, I started my own business: 10:4 Events & Weddings. At first, I just did small events here and there for friends and family. But things shifted for me in 2023 when I planned and decorated my sister’s Sweet 16. That event was a turning point. My mom handed me her card and told me to “do what you do” and I did. It was the first time I saw what I could really create when given full trust and creative freedom.

Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
It definitely hasn’t always been a smooth road. One of the biggest struggles has been helping clients understand the true meaning of a budget. Many people come in with big visions, inspired by social media or celebrity events, but aren’t aware of how much goes into bringing those ideas to life, both in terms of time and cost. From florals to rentals, labor, logistics, and last-minute changes, throwing a high-quality event is expensive. Educating clients while still respecting their vision and constraints has been a balancing act, but one that’s helped me grow and improve how I communicate the value of what I do.

Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know?
I’m an event planner and the founder of 10:4 Events & Weddings. I specialize in creating unforgettable events from intimate weddings to large-scale celebrations with a focus on thoughtful design, seamless logistics, and personalized experiences. What I’m known for is my attention to detail and the ability to bring my clients’ visions to life in a way that feels effortless and authentic to them.

I don’t just plan events I curate moments that leave a lasting impression. Whether it’s choosing the perfect color palette, coordinating with the right vendors, or managing the timeline down to the minute, I’m hands on every step of the way. What sets 10:4 Events & Weddings apart is our ability to take a client’s ideas and elevate them beyond what they imagined, while staying grounded in practical solutions and realistic budgeting.

I’m most proud of the trust I’ve built with clients and the joy I’ve been able to bring to their most important life moments. There’s nothing like seeing everything come together and knowing that I played a part in creating something truly special.

What matters most to you? Why?
What matters most to me is my business name, 10:4 Events & Weddings, because it’s deeply personal and close to my heart. The name ‘10:4’ comes from my birthday October 4th and it also happens to be the birthday of my mentor’s mother, who was a huge inspiration in my journey. It’s more than just a business name; it’s a reminder of where I came from, the people who believed in me, and the purpose behind everything I do. Every event I plan is a reflection of that love, meaning, and intention.
