Today we’d like to introduce you to Brandon Anderchuk.
Hi Brandon , so excited to have you on the platform. So before we get into questions about your work-life, maybe you can bring our readers up to speed on your story and how you got to where you are today?
I grew up in Oregon, where I graduated high school and immediately joined the U.S. Army. Over the next eight years, I served our country with three deployments—two to Iraq and one to Afghanistan—ultimately achieving the rank of E-6, Staff Sergeant.
After leaving the military, I returned to Oregon and used my GI Bill to further my education, earning an AAS in Criminal Justice, a BS in Human Services Administration, and an MA in Executive Leadership. While in school, I worked full-time at a residential, military-model high school for at-risk youth—a role I held for nearly a decade. That experience gave me a deep understanding of residential programs and the unique challenges youth face in these environments.
In the spring of 2022, my family and I relocated to The Woodlands, Texas, seeking a better quality of life and new opportunities. Through a connection at a local church, I was introduced to Hope’s Path and soon interviewed for the Executive Director position. I officially began my role in April 2022.
I have been married to my beautiful wife, Erin, for almost 14 years, and together we have four amazing children—three of whom are adopted. Because of our own family’s story, working with youth who are aging out of foster care is deeply personal and meaningful to me. At Hope’s Path, I am honored to lead an organization that provides a place of healing, support, and empowerment for young men as they prepare for independent adulthood.
Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
It certainly hasn’t been a smooth road, but every challenge has shaped my journey and deepened my faith. One of the most significant struggles was the adoption of our two oldest daughters. Although they lived with us for seven years, we were only their legal guardians during that time. The adoption process was long and often frustrating, filled with loopholes and legal nuances that delayed finalization. But when the day finally came, it was absolutely worth the wait.
Another pivotal moment came when God called our family to leave Oregon and move to Texas. We didn’t have a job lined up—it was a complete leap of faith. We simply trusted that if God was leading us, He would also provide. And He did.
Looking back, the road has been full of ups and downs, but through it all, God has been faithful. Every obstacle has been met with provision, every uncertainty with direction, and every trial with the reassurance that He was guiding our steps.
As you know, we’re big fans of you and your work. For our readers who might not be as familiar what can you tell them about what you do?
Leadership has been a constant thread throughout my career—from serving as a non-commissioned officer in the U.S. Army, to spending a decade as a Group Life Supervisor at a residential military-model high school for at-risk youth in Oregon, to my current role as Executive Director at Hope’s Path. For the past three years, I’ve had the privilege of leading this incredible organization, and my days are never the same.
My work involves building strong relationships—with donors, volunteers, supporters, and, most importantly, the young men who live in our program. I also invest deeply in our staff, taking time to know them personally, support them professionally, and lead them well. A significant part of my role includes being out in the community—sharing the mission and vision of Hope’s Path, connecting with partners, and spearheading fundraising efforts and campaigns throughout the year.
Hope’s Path is a residential home and program for young men aged 18-28 years old who have aged out of the foster care system or are experiencing homelessness. Our mission serves to provide a place of healing within a Christ-centered environment where young adults are supported, equipped, and empowered to lead successful independent lives.
What I’m most proud of isn’t a single event or accomplishment—it’s the people. Over the years, I’ve had the privilege of working alongside incredible teams and building relationships that have grown into lifelong friendships.
What sets me apart is my servant leadership style. I believe in serving those I lead—modeling work ethic, prioritizing their needs, and leading by example. My ultimate goal, both personally and professionally, is to reflect the heart and character of Jesus in all I do.
How do you think about happiness?
Many things in life bring me happiness—going on dates with my wife, spending quality time with my kids, coaching my son’s baseball team, working outside on my home, and taking weekend road trips to the beach. I also find great fulfillment in serving and being involved at my church, WoodsEdge Community Church in The Woodlands.
But even more important than happiness is joy. The same things that make me happy also bring me a deep and lasting joy, because they connect me with the people I love and the God I serve.
I also find tremendous joy in seeing how God moves daily at Hope’s Path. I’ve witnessed incredible transformation in the lives of our residents and alumni—some of whom are now business owners, serving in the military, or have earned college degrees. I’m equally inspired by how God provides for the needs of Hope’s Path month after month, often in ways we could never have predicted.
For me, joy comes from recognizing God’s hand in the big victories, the small moments, and everything in between.
