Hi Joshua & Yazmin, thank you so much for joining us today. We’re thrilled to learn more about your journey, values and what you are currently working on. Let’s start with an ice breaker: Would YOU hire you? Why or why not?
We would definitely hire ourselves. We show up to work everyday, even outside of our business we do not call in to our 9-5 job. We strive for excellence in everything we do. We are huge believers in “Show me how you do one thing, I’ll show you how you do everything. ” We are always looking for a more efficient way of doing things. We learn from past mistakes and adjust to prevent the same mistakes from happening. A dream hire.
Can you briefly introduce yourself and share what makes you or your brand unique?
What’s Snackin Vending Services is a family own business that specializes in vending services in Houston, TX and surrounding areas. Our main goal is to provide great customer service, quality products and state of the art machines for our customers to elevate their businesses or offices. What makes us unique is our new AI vending coolers that gives customers a easier and more efficient transaction when purchasing products.
Okay, so here’s a deep one: Who taught you the most about work?
The people who taught us the most about work would have to be our parents. Seeing our parents get up go to work everyday whether they felt like it or not, was a lesson learned early on in life. That not only was work important, but we soon later found out that you can enjoy loving the work you do, which is why we are in this business.
If you could say one kind thing to your younger self, what would it be?
If we could tell our younger selves anything it would be two things.
1. That I am enough – Meaning I am capable of doing anything I set my mind too.
2. Learn to fall in love with failure – When you fail don’t think of it as a bad thing. Learn to reprogram your mind to think that every time you fail, you are one step closer to achieving your goals and dreams. Even a blind squirrel finds a nut every now and then. And how much more capable are you than a blind squirrel? Fall in love with rejection and tell everybody about what you do.
So a lot of these questions go deep, but if you are open to it, we’ve got a few more questions that we’d love to get your take on. What’s a cultural value you protect at all costs?
The cultural value we protect at all costs would have to be to keep God first in all that we do. Include him in everything. Decision making, finances, our marriage. Everything. To give him the Glory for our wins.
Okay, so let’s keep going with one more question that means a lot to us: If you laid down your name, role, and possessions—what would remain?
What would remain would be our genuine hearts, our work ethic, our values, and our love for people. Your roles and positions may identify you in a work setting, but when stripped of these titles you are left to reveal what’s truly inside of you. That is who you are!
