We recently had the chance to connect with Christina Hulka-Singleton and have shared our conversation below.
Hi Christina, thank you so much for taking time out of your busy day to share your story, experiences and insights with our readers. Let’s jump right in with an interesting one: What are you chasing, and what would happen if you stopped?
What I’m chasing is the ability to create a better future for my family something more stable, more fulfilling, and built with purpose. Professionally, I’m chasing growth and refinement within my Permanent Makeup training programs. I’m currently developing an improved curriculum that includes an online component to be completed before the hands on training. This way, students are exposed to the material twice, which helps reinforce their understanding and boosts their confidence when working in person.
While I’ll always love serving my clients, my deeper passion lies in helping others step into a new career in PMU. Guiding people through that transformation watching them build skills and find their footing—is what truly lights me up.
If I stopped chasing these things, I think I’d feel like I was playing small. I’d be living safely, but not fully. This route gives me direction, meaning, and the chance to impact lives not just my own.
Can you briefly introduce yourself and share what makes you or your brand unique?
Hi, I’m Christina, the founder of Inked & Blinked, where I specialize in high end permanent makeup and empowering others to build careers in this transformative industry. I’ve been a licensed tattoo artist for nearly a decade and have had the honor of tattooing thousands of faces. My work is all about enhancing natural beauty while creating confidence and now I’m taking that experience and turning it into something bigger.
I’m currently building an in depth training program for aspiring PMU artists that blends online education with hands on learning. My goal is to give students the tools, confidence, and guidance they need to launch a successful career in permanent makeup. What makes my brand unique is not just the quality of artistry, but the deep commitment to mentorship and education. I truly believe in lifting others up and creating long-term success, not just short-term results.
Whether you’re a client or a student, you’ll experience a space built on trust, skill, and transformation. And I’m just getting started.
Amazing, so let’s take a moment to go back in time. What was your earliest memory of feeling powerful?
One of my earliest memories of feeling powerful was when I started creating my own wealth and realized I was giving myself options for the future. As an entrepreneur, the moment I could make decisions not out of survival, but from a place of freedom….. that was empowering. I wasn’t waiting on anyone else’s permission or paycheck. I was building something on my own terms, and with that came a sense of confidence, control, and possibility I had never felt before. That feeling is what continues to drive me today.
Was there ever a time you almost gave up?
Not going to lie… I think a lot of us feel like giving up at times. Being a business owner is one of the most stressful things in the world. In my line of work, the pressure can be intense it’s given me some of the worst anxiety I’ve ever experienced on top of already having it, and its never gone away. I hate it. There are many days I feel so completely overwhelmed and mentally exhausted. I constantly question myself: Am I doing enough? What am I missing? How can I bring in more bookings during a slow month?
The PMU industry has become more saturated than ever, and staying ahead while staying true to myself can feel like a battle. But even in those moments when I feel like giving up, I remind myself why I started: to create freedom, impact others, and build something that’s mine.
So a lot of these questions go deep, but if you are open to it, we’ve got a few more questions that we’d love to get your take on. Is the public version of you the real you?
Honestly yes, lol. What you see is what you get, and that’s the truth. I’ve never been great at pretending to be anything I’m not. Whether I’m with clients, students, or just showing up online, I try to keep it real. I believe people connect most with authenticity, and I’d rather be fully myself flaws, struggles, wins, and all than play a role that doesn’t feel true.
Before we go, we’d love to hear your thoughts on some longer-run, legacy type questions. When do you feel most at peace?
I feel most at peace at the end of a long workday. When I can say, “I did that”. There’s something so calming about knowing I gave it my all, especially when a client leaves a kind review. It’s that little reminder that I’m doing something right, that my work made someone feel good about themselves. That’s when I exhale, feel grounded, and know I’m exactly where I’m meant to be.
