Life, Values & Legacy: Our Chat with Jackie Parker of Tomball

We recently had the chance to connect with Jackie Parker and have shared our conversation below.

Jackie, a huge thanks to you for investing the time to share your wisdom with those who are seeking it. We think it’s so important for us to share stories with our neighbors, friends and community because knowledge multiples when we share with each other. Let’s jump in: What do the first 90 minutes of your day look like?
1st 90 minutes of my day consists of coffee (always 1st!), then check emails, check reservations, check our social media for comments etc, and then on to making calls and working on marketing.

Can you briefly introduce yourself and share what makes you or your brand unique?
First, I want to thank you for the opportunity to speak with your readers once again. My name is Jackie Parker, one of the owners of The Axeperience. My husband, Justin Viereck, a Marine Corps veteran, and my brother, Aaron Parker. The Axeperience is an upscale Axe Throwing venue located in Tomball, Tx. We are right off Spring Cypress, in between 249 and North Eldridge. We pride ourselves in excellent customer service, a fun and clean environment, fun for everyone. We offer Birthday Parties, Bachelor and Bachelorette parties, Team Building, Family days out, Ladies Nights, Guys night out, and more. We have a BRAND NEW event coming up August 15th and 16th called Glow Throw. It is a unique take on axe throwing. It includes black lights, Glow in the dark axes, fun music, and glowing targets. We are not like your typical axe venue, we designed it to be trendy and fun for all occasions. Its a great way to relieve stress, get some exercise, bond with family and friends, or build memories with your loved ones.

Okay, so here’s a deep one: Who saw you clearly before you could see yourself?
My husband, Justin Viereck, saw my confidence and entrepreneurial spirit before I ever did. He has encouraged me, and us, to go for our dreams and given me the confidence to do it.

Was there ever a time you almost gave up?
Owning a business, let alone multiple businesses, you constantly feel pressure and often want to give up. The difference is the desire to keep going and push through the hard times. It takes a lot of grit and mindset shifts to continue on, but its so worth it!

Alright, so if you are open to it, let’s explore some philosophical questions that touch on your values and worldview. What would your closest friends say really matters to you?
My closes friends would say that my family is what truly matters to me. They are the driving force behind everything I do. They are the reason I work so hard and strive for a better tomorrow each and every day.

Thank you so much for all of your openness so far. Maybe we can close with a future oriented question. Are you doing what you were born to do—or what you were told to do?
For a long time I was doing what I was told to do. Living life how people thought it should be done. After I started my businesses, things drastically changed. I’ve been able to spend more time with my family and friends. It’s definitely a challenge daily. It is not for the weak at all. However, I’ve always had the desire to run multiple businesses and be able to have some control over my schedule. It’s taken courage and strength to continue on with this journey but it is so much fun. I feel my most authentic self being able to run my own businesses.
