An Inspired Chat with Eddie Mendoza of Spring Branch East

We’re looking forward to introducing you to Eddie Mendoza. Check out our conversation below.

Eddie, really appreciate you sharing your stories and insights with us. The world would have so much more understanding and empathy if we all were a bit more open about our stories and how they have helped shaped our journey and worldview. Let’s jump in with a fun one: What is something outside of work that is bringing you joy lately?
I wanted to share about my passion for the World Cup
Next summer the FIFA World Cup is coming to Houston TX
We will host 7 World Cup matches at NRG stadium
This is the equivalent to hosting 7 supper bowls in 30 days
Houston anticipated to generate over $1.5 Billion in economic impact, including tourism and hospitality etc

I have been to the last 3 world cups in
Brazil 2014
Russia 2018
Qatar 2022

Next summer I plan to watch 17 matches live and document everything
7 matches in Houston
9 matches in Dallas
1 match in New York- the final

We are counting down the days to kick off on June 11 2026
I will be posting content weekly on my IG eddiemendozapr to inform fans that have never been to a World Cup

Can you briefly introduce yourself and share what makes you or your brand unique?
Remodel HTX is a local construction company that does residential, commercial and multi family projects both in new construction and renovations. We range from building custom homes to doing interior build outs for educations facilities. Something unique about Remodel HTX is that we specialize in facility maintenance and doing work orders all over Texas for retail customers. This year we became a vendor for the Houston Land Bank and we are doing tree removal services to prevent any trees from falling on neighbors during hurricane season. We focus on work orders that need to get done and are ready when a customer calls 24/7

Appreciate your sharing that. Let’s talk about your life, growing up and some of topics and learnings around that. Who saw you clearly before you could see yourself?
Dr. Murillo President and CEO of the Houston Hispanic Chamber of Commerce saw my potential in 2014 and selected me to be part of the Emerging Leaders Institute. This is a program that allows young professions with leadership and networking opportunities. She invited me to HHCC events where I was surround by community leaders, elected officials and entrepreneurs. For the past decade I have been involved with the HHCC and it has opened many doors for me and my business Remodel HTX. This year I was selected to be on the HHCC board of directors and I am grateful for this opportunity and trust by Dr. Murillo

If you could say one kind thing to your younger self, what would it be?
Invest in real estate earlier. As a builder and contractor I have the skills that most investors would dream of. I know how to renovate a project and I get the best prices in materials and labor. I purchased a 4 plex a few years ago and it was a project I was satisfied with. I am looking for new opportunities in real estate everyday

Next, maybe we can discuss some of your foundational philosophies and views? What would your closest friends say really matters to you?
Building relationships and adding value. I aim to be consistent at whatever I do. Whether it is playing golf or networking I try to do both at least once a week. This habit is something small but after 52 weeks you will get better at golf and find opportunities in networking

Okay, we’ve made it essentially to the end. One last question before you go. If you knew you had 10 years left, what would you stop doing immediately?
I would stop eating out so much and focus on healthier habits. As we get older we start to watch what we eat and try to exercise 5 time per week. Eating healthy is something I am working on and getting better each day. I recently started working with a personal trainer and he helps me keep up with my nutrition. I like that he keeps me accountable and he can tell when I am not on track
