We recently had the chance to connect with Laie Holloway and have shared our conversation below.
Laie, really appreciate you sharing your stories and insights with us. The world would have so much more understanding and empathy if we all were a bit more open about our stories and how they have helped shaped our journey and worldview. Let’s jump in with a fun one: What is something outside of work that is bringing you joy lately?
Legos!! Haha I actually find it peaceful and relaxing putting together a Lego set. Then when I’m done, admiring my work. Like I actually did that. When people hear that I have a Lego collection they are shocked. Then when they see what I put together, they are in Awe. I have a few sets I currently have my eye on.
Can you briefly introduce yourself and share what makes you or your brand unique?
I’m Laie Holloway. I’m an Army vet and graphic artist turned photographer. I got into photography from a good friend of mine. She always wanted to take more pictures and I got a camera and we used each other for practice.
Okay, so here’s a deep one: What breaks the bonds between people—and what restores them?
Betrayal. I dont think you can really restore trust. It’s like dropping a ceramic mug and breaking it. You can glue it back together and use it but it really wont ever be the same.
If you could say one kind thing to your younger self, what would it be?
Do YOU!!! Dont live to impress anyone but yourself. You dont have to impress anyone else especially if its not something that truly makes you happy. I know you and I know you have a good heart. Believe in yourself and the right people will come around.
I think our readers would appreciate hearing more about your values and what you think matters in life and career, etc. So our next question is along those lines. Whom do you admire for their character, not their power?
I’ve actually always admired Dennis Rodman. He lived to please other people but it got him no where. He started living for him and doing him and not caring what naysayers said and ended up becoming a huge celebrity.

That I’m actually a deep intellectual. I’ve always been one that people comes to for advice or to vent. Ive also been a problem solver. I will try to answer any problem or find the solution. I’m an open book. you can come to me for anything judgement free.
