Melissa, we’re thrilled to have you with us today. Before we jump into your intro and the heart of the interview, let’s start with a bit of an ice breaker: What battle are you avoiding?
The battle I’m avoiding is telling my story/ public speaking.
Can you briefly introduce yourself and share what makes you or your brand unique?
My name is Melissa Watson. I am a mother of five. I am the owner of NIKAO Scrub Solutions a brand that provides high quality, comfortable, and affordable healthcare scrubs for the health/wellness industry. I built NIKAO in 2021 while battling stage four terminal cancer with 90 days to live. That traumatic experience change my life for the better. NIKAO is on year 4 and continuing to grow!
Okay, so here’s a deep one: What’s a moment that really shaped how you see the world?
The moment that shaped me was in 2020 when I was diagnosed which stage four terminal cancer that moment in my life, let me know that the only thing that matter is my faith and my belief in God. “ALL thing works for the good of those who loves the lord, who have been called according to his purpose” whenever I get in a tough spot, I think about Romans 8:28
What did suffering teach you that success never could?
Suffering taught me, endurance and endurance taught me patience and in patience you know adversity comes, and the day of adversity you consider/reflect on “what should I learn from this” after adversity it’s prosperity and that’s when I’m joyful!
So a lot of these questions go deep, but if you are open to it, we’ve got a few more questions that we’d love to get your take on. Where are smart people getting it totally wrong today?
I feel smart people are telling themselves that an income can create generational wealth if you work hard enough!

I understand that you have to change your mindset in order to grow. The higher you get the smaller things look. Don’t complain about how much on your plate when the goal is to eat.
