We’re looking forward to introducing you to Nyquan Sennett. Check out our conversation below.
Nyquan , it’s always a pleasure to learn from you and your journey. Let’s start with a bit of a warmup: What is something outside of work that is bringing you joy lately?
Family and friends! I love being around my family and having gathering and bonding. My friends are always around and I love the bond I share with them.
Can you briefly introduce yourself and share what makes you or your brand unique?
I’m Quannthemodell, or simply “Quan,”. For the past eight years, I have worked as a freelance model. Since I was a child, modeling has been a passion of mine. In December 2018, I began my career. Here, I worked alongside Hope Watkins and Key Atkins for the first time. When I started my modeling career, I had worked 8hrs a day, attended college, serve as a Resident Advisor (RA), and modeling on the weekends.
I received recognition over the years from Tiffney Wilson, who presented me with my first Male Model of the Year Award in 2019 and 2021. Additionally, I received the 2023 Down for the Underground Awards’ Model of the Year Award. As of right now, I am a candidate for both Model of the Year and Men of Valor of the Year at the 2025 BEA Awards. I have appeared in several magazines, including 180 Lyfe Magazine, Bold Journey, Heart of Hollywood Magazine, Voyage Houston, Voyage Dallas, Voyage LA, Beautiful & Dauntless May 2019, and many more. I was also featured on the 2023 New York Square Billboard.
I began Model Coaching in 2024, and I’m currently working to establish my reputation and keep giving presentations to aspiring models worldwide. Instead of working in an agency, I performed all of this as a freelance model.
Amazing, so let’s take a moment to go back in time. What did you believe about yourself as a child that you no longer believe?
As I child. I use to believe that certain jobs or opportunities was just or certain people of age. I got older and realize that age was only a number and only time could tell. I grew up as an honor student and very head strong.
What fear has held you back the most in your life?
The fear that held me back was thinking that I was not good enough to do things I wanted to do. I would go into job and look like money , but because of how I look people would look at me as if I was trying to take there spot. I would walk into modeling room and I use to know that people were already pre selected before I even did a walk and some other. But it made me feel that the rooms I wanted to go in was not for me , as I realized as moving out of my fear in living in my skin, living in my dream , my ambition and testimony. I was greater than the room I was going in. There was room waiting for me to go in but I didn’t push myself to get to them at the time and I had work to do, so as I did what needed to be done door opened left and right . Just by taking the risk.
So a lot of these questions go deep, but if you are open to it, we’ve got a few more questions that we’d love to get your take on. What are the biggest lies your industry tells itself?
That you have to be a certain age, a certain size , a certain height and etc. None of that even matters , because if you know you can do it you can do it. Sometimes you got to walk into those room and prove them wrong and show them why you deserve your seat or spot. It maybe crazy to see it that way , but if you believe in your own dreams. The only way for it to come out is if you bring it to life. The only person stopping you is yourself . Don’t let that happen to you push and strive through all the hurdles and challenges that may come your way.
Thank you so much for all of your openness so far. Maybe we can close with a future oriented question. What is the story you hope people tell about you when you’re gone?
I would want the world to see my passion. The doors I opened for myself. The connection I build to build my platform and the love I shared with any person I encountered with. I spread love all around and I always support and love the people who love me. Lastly , I would want people to accept their own flowers and the flowers they received from others cherish them as they would cherish their own.
Never give up on your dreams no matter how many NOs you may get there will be a YES at the door welcoming and waiting for you to accept them.
