Grace Woodard shared their story and experiences with us recently and you can find our conversation below.
Good morning Grace, it’s such a great way to kick off the day – I think our readers will love hearing your stories, experiences and about how you think about life and work. Let’s jump right in? What is something outside of work that is bringing you joy lately?
Genuinely taking time to myself and allowing myself time to rest and enjoy life
Can you briefly introduce yourself and share what makes you or your brand unique?
Hello everyone my name is Grace and I am the CEO of Graceful Studio. My brand is based off of self growth and allowing more knowledge to flow in because even as a service provider and owner of my business, there is always room for more knowledge and improvement. My brand is very special to me, because my whole life growing up I knew I wanted to be in the beauty industry and was so overwhelmed with all the things you can learn from this industry I wasn’t 100% sure on one area I wanted to focus on. Until I did a lot of thinking and realized that doing nails was my calling! I used to draw all of the time and being able to put art on to beautiful human beings nails and making them feel good was exactly what I wanted! Right now I am working on creating my very own acrylic enhancement nail course along with all natural body oils. Very exciting things coming soon!!
Great, so let’s dive into your journey a bit more. What did you believe about yourself as a child that you no longer believe?
I used to feel very hopeless about my dreams and aspirations until I got older and realized that you make your own future and if you want to do something BIG push yourself. And I say this because those who tell you that you can’t genuinely believe you can and can sometimes be intimidated by your joy and perseverance in the way you push yourself. Believing in myself has been something I’ve had to work on a lot and now the only thing that could stop me is GOD. However he is the one that helps lead me in the right direction every morning I wake up!
Was there ever a time you almost gave up?
There has been multiple times I have wanted to give up because I relied on other people’s opinions a little too much, instead of how I felt and what my dreams and goals were. Even though I wanted to give up it was harder to do that than push myself to be the best version of myself. So that is exactly what I did, PUSHED MYSELF TO BE MY BEST VERSION.
Next, maybe we can discuss some of your foundational philosophies and views? Is the public version of you the real you?
The public version of me has always been the real me! I am a very nice and caring person and I love giving back! As I am human we all have our down days where it can be hard to present our best selves, but I try to not let my down days defeat me because everyday is only what you make of it!
Before we go, we’d love to hear your thoughts on some longer-run, legacy type questions. What do you think people will most misunderstand about your legacy?
I will always take a risk, because tomorrow is not promised and I don’t like the idea of having an opportunity and not taking it! Life isn’t meant to be a piece of cake and be easy! There is supposed to be bumps along the way however I will always push past and take a risk!
