Today we’d like to introduce you to Barett Henry and Saul Munoz.
Barett, Saul, let’s start with your story. We’d love to hear how you got started and how the journey has been so far.
CivicPhotos was started as a company in 2009. Just like most photography companies we come from small beginnings! Performing style shoots certainly played into the success of the company since those types of sessions put us in positions to have more creative control over the photographs captured. Overtime we were also fortunate to provide photography services for amazing clients which help us grow professionally. We’ve had the privilege of being featured on well over 100 different wedding blogs including the ever-prestigious Style Me Pretty. We also been featured in digital & print wedding magazines such as Weddings in Houston, Modern Luxury, Black Bride, Bay Area Houston, The Houston Chronicle & Woodlands Bride to name a few. Between Saul & Barett CivicPhotos as a company has a combined experience of covering well over 350 weddings.
Overall, has it been relatively smooth? If not, what were some of the struggles along the way?
It certainly has not been the easiest path especially since the wedding photography market is extremely competitive. As artists there are always “growth struggles” or “self-doubt” especially when we might compare our work to someone else’s which is very easy to do with so many amazing wedding photographers available to view on social media platforms such as Instagram & Facebook.
Please tell us about CivicPhotos.

If you had to go back in time and start over, would you have done anything differently?
We are so thankful for all the opportunities we have been privileged to experience so it’s difficult to think of something we would have wanted to change.
