Life, Values & Legacy: Our Chat with Del Muzik of Houston

We recently had the chance to connect with Del Muzik and have shared our conversation below.

Hi Del , thank you for taking the time to reflect back on your journey with us. I think our readers are in for a real treat. There is so much we can all learn from each other and so thank you again for opening up with us. Let’s get into it: When was the last time you felt true joy?
Creating music and feeling a vibe because music is my High

Can you briefly introduce yourself and share what makes you or your brand unique?
I am international R&B artist with Dominican roots, now based in Houston, Texas. On a mission to redefine R&B, and bring a fresh, distinct vibe to the genre, blending the rhythms of the Caribbean with the timeless essence of R&B.

Great, so let’s dive into your journey a bit more. What was your earliest memory of feeling powerful?
When I use to run track and always getting to the gold medal with my extensive training and heavy focused mind set.

What’s something you changed your mind about after failing hard?
When I was doing track, I was doing a 100m relay and anchoring last leg of the relay. I celebrated too early and threw the baton in the sky before the finish line. We got disqualified and lost our record holding time and disappointment my country and my team mates. That humbled me to where now I’m always grounded and have a whole different mindset and perspective on things.

Next, maybe we can discuss some of your foundational philosophies and views? Whom do you admire for their character, not their power?
All the people in my life and through my journey of being who I am today help shape me. From friends coaches mentors and family.

Okay, so let’s keep going with one more question that means a lot to us: What is the story you hope people tell about you when you’re gone?
That I became global for my music and that I touched everyone with my storytelling and passion.
