Bella Laveaux of Northwest Houston on Life, Lessons & Legacy

Bella Laveaux shared their story and experiences with us recently and you can find our conversation below.

Bella , it’s always a pleasure to learn from you and your journey. Let’s start with a bit of a warmup: What do you think others are secretly struggling with—but never say?
I think people are struggling with a few things , 1 thing is feeling like they aren’t enough. We live in a world where everything is curated . beauty, success, even happiness and it makes people feel like they’re always behind. They don’t say it because vulnerability feels like weakness, but deep down, everybody just wants to feel seen and valued.”

I think many people also struggle with alignment feeling like their outside life looks good, but inside they feel disconnected from themselves. We don’t talk about that because society rewards the image, not the inner peace. But the truth is, so many people are silently craving meaning& purpose

3rd is comparison. Even if they look confident, so many are wondering, ‘Am I doing enough? Am I where I’m supposed to be?’ But pride or fear keeps them from saying it. Meanwhile, everyone else is thinking the same thing.

Can you briefly introduce yourself and share what makes you or your brand unique?
“I’m Bella Laveaux, a licensed cosmetologist, press-on nail creator, and content creator passionate about beauty, fashion, and spirituality. I’m also the founder of Bayou Belle Nails, a luxury press-on brand inspired by Southern charm and mysticism as well as the Laveaux brand that embodies all things beauty and spirituality & let’s not forget I’m a partner and a mother as well but beyond beauty endeavors , I’m stepping into exciting new chapters , like being part of the upcoming reality show House of Influence and diving back into one of my first loves :music. My brand is unique because it’s more than beauty it’s about empowerment, alignment, and living boldly. About making the inside just as beautiful as the outside , Whether that be through beauty , content, or conversation, I want women to feel powerful, magnetic, and unapologetically themselves.”

Okay, so here’s a deep one: What did you believe about yourself as a child that you no longer believe?
As a child, I believed being emotional made me weak because I was told I was ‘too sensitive’ or ‘too much.’ For a long time, I tried to shrink that part of me. Now I know my emotions are not a flaw , they’re my superpower. That sensitivity is what gives me empathy, unmatched creativity, and undeniable intuition . I don’t subscribe to the idea that feeling deeply is a weakness anymore. It’s actually what makes me strong and connected to myself and others. I would never shrink that down anymore I’ve learned to use that to become unstoppable in the physical and spiritual world .

What fear has held you back the most in your life?
Honestly, the fear that’s held me back the most is the fear of success not failure. Failure never scared me because I’ve learned from every setback & I can bounce back from that . But success? That’s different beast . It comes with visibility, expectations, and a whole new level of responsibility. For a long time, I worried if I was ready for that kind of pressure, that kind of spotlight.& maybe even if i deserved it , But I’ve learned that fear was really just my greatness trying to break through. Now I lean into it, because playing small doesn’t serve me or anyone else watching me i wasn’t given this big energy just to play it small , so ya’ll get ready because I’m just getting started baby !

Sure, so let’s go deeper into your values and how you think. Whom do you admire for their character, not their power?
Of course an obvious answer would be my parents & close family but let’s take a detour from the obvious , I admire my partner not for power or status, but for his beautiful spirit. He has a giving heart, a selflessness that inspires me every day, and a way of making people feel seen and cared for without asking for anything in return. His character reminds me that true strength isn’t about control or recognition ,it’s about love, integrity, and showing up for others in a way that’s quiet but unforgettable. And it’s so much power in that , That kind of character , that kind of love, that’s rare, and it’s the kind of strength I can’t help but admire &will always be grateful that I’m chosen to experience it . & let’s not forget the intelligence attached to this beautiful human being … yeah definitely cant help but to admire him .

Before we go, we’d love to hear your thoughts on some longer-run, legacy type questions. What is the story you hope people tell about you when you’re gone?
“I hope people remember me as someone who loved hard, lived loud, and made people feel seen. I want them to say I lifted people up, shared joy, and never apologized for being my full, chaotic , crazy , self. Most of all, I hope they remember my energy & my spirit the kind that made life brighter, a little more magical, and always full of love. And baby , I hope they say I did it all with a little fire and a whole lot of heart.” All in all i hope they remember how much i poured into them and how deeply and fully i loved them , how i always tried to be there , how i considered others and wanted to see everyone i encountered happy , how much i loved my family and friends , that i was cute as hell & how i could lay some hair nails makeup and dress like my life depended on it and was always unapologetically me no matter who liked it or not, that i always made the best of what i had little or big and i was grateful for it all . But most of all that i was a true definition of what love is & they felt it whole heartedly from me .
