Laura Lynn of MidTown on Life, Lessons & Legacy

Laura Lynn shared their story and experiences with us recently and you can find our conversation below.

Good morning Laura, it’s such a great way to kick off the day – I think our readers will love hearing your stories, experiences and about how you think about life and work. Let’s jump right in? What are you chasing, and what would happen if you stopped?
Most people chase money or material things. Not me. Money is nice but it’s an accessory more than a necessity. I am chasing my dream. The chase seems never ending at times and it feels like I’m on a treadmill. The reoccurring dream I have ends with me holding a few awards for my talent.

Can you briefly introduce yourself and share what makes you or your brand unique?
LauraLynn here, Houston’s resident Baddie. I just released my new project “Sorry For Your Loss” and it’s in streaming stores everywhere. Now that we have that quick promo plug out the way lol. I’ve been on the music scene for a little over 2 years now and I can tell you it’s been quite a roller coaster ride. The ups and downs have been crazy, but I have seemingly found my niche and things are looking quite bright from here on out.

Thanks for sharing that. Would love to go back in time and hear about how your past might have impacted who you are today. Who were you before the world told you who you had to be?
Before taking a shockingly turn into the music industry, I was just a small-town country gal that enjoyed nature and what the outdoors had to offer. Once my voice was discovered the world had other plans. Nowadays I am lucky to take a walk and enjoy the sunrays lol.

Was there ever a time you almost gave up?
Indeed. I almost gave up plenty. Luckily, I have people that believe in me more than I believe in me. I am ever so grateful for them.

I think our readers would appreciate hearing more about your values and what you think matters in life and career, etc. So our next question is along those lines. Is the public version of you the real you?
I have kind of grown into my new skin. As far as this being the real me? It’s the real me now. Underneath there’s that little country girl I used to know.

Okay, so let’s keep going with one more question that means a lot to us: If you knew you had 10 years left, what would you stop doing immediately?
Hesitating!
