Eboni Eyez of 610 South Loop Area on Life, Lessons & Legacy

We recently had the chance to connect with Eboni Eyez and have shared our conversation below.

Eboni, really appreciate you sharing your stories and insights with us. The world would have so much more understanding and empathy if we all were a bit more open about our stories and how they have helped shaped our journey and worldview. Let’s jump in with a fun one: Would YOU hire you? Why or why not?
Yes, I would hire me. I’m reliable and professional & I know how important it is to show up on time and deliver consistent results.I’ve built my business with repeat clients, even celebrities, which proves people trust my work.
I take pride in details, especially with lash artistry, where precision matters.
I know how to connect with people and make them feel comfortable, which keeps clients coming back. I also push myself to learn and grow, so I’m always improving my craft and customer experience. If there’s one area I watch closely, it’s balance. Sometimes I push myself hard and have to remind myself not to overwork. But that comes from wanting to give my best.

Can you briefly introduce yourself and share what makes you or your brand unique?
Hi, my name is Ebony, and I’m the founder of Eboni Eyez Beauty Bar. I’m a licensed lash artist with over five years of experience, and I’ve had the honor of working with everyday women as well as celebrities. My specialty and what my clients know me best for are my signature wispy lash top & bottom sets.
What makes my brand unique is that I don’t just focus on lashes, I focus on the experience. When clients come to me, they’re not just booking an appointment, they’re stepping into a space where they can feel beautiful, confident, and cared for. Eboni Eyez Beauty Bar is built on passion, precision, and purpose. I truly believe this is what I was born to do.
Right now, I’m not only focused on perfecting my craft and growing my clientele, but I’m also working towards expanding my brand, creating a lasting beauty legacy that inspires and empowers women. Being a mother to my 14-year-old son also fuels me daily, showing him what dedication, resilience, and chasing your purpose really looks like.

Okay, so here’s a deep one: What’s a moment that really shaped how you see the world?
A moment that completely changed how I see the world was surviving a major car accident in 2013. I suffered life-threatening injuries, and coming through that made me realize how precious life is. It also showed me that I’m here for a reason and pushed me to find my purpose. That’s when I discovered my love for beauty and lashing, and it shaped the way I approach everything…my work, my relationships, and my mission to empower women.

If you could say one kind thing to your younger self, what would it be?
“Ebony, you are stronger than you think. Every challenge, every setback, every moment that feels impossible, it’s shaping you for a purpose greater than you can imagine. Trust yourself, keep going, and never doubt that you are meant to shine.”

So a lot of these questions go deep, but if you are open to it, we’ve got a few more questions that we’d love to get your take on. What are the biggest lies your industry tells itself?
I think there are a lot of misconceptions in the lash industry. One of the biggest is the idea that ‘it’s just lashes.’ To me, it’s an art form and a confidence booster. It’s not only about the look, it’s about how a client feels when she leaves my chair. Another misconception is that success happens overnight. Many new artists think they’ll be fully booked in a few months, but the truth is it takes years of practice, consistency, and relationship-building to really grow. There’s also this mindset that everyone is competition, but I believe collaboration and community actually create more opportunities. A lot of people also chase what’s trending on Instagram, but longevity comes from mastering your technique and producing quality work. And finally, the biggest lie of all is that beauty is only on the outside. The truth is, these services often heal something inside. So many women walk away not just looking better, but feeling stronger and more confident.

Okay, so before we go, let’s tackle one more area. Are you doing what you were born to do—or what you were told to do?
I truly believe I’m doing what I was born to do. After surviving a major car accident in 2013, I knew I was still here for a reason. That experience pushed me to search for my purpose, and I eventually found it in beauty. Lashing became more than just a career, it’s my passion, my art, and my way of empowering women. No one told me to do this, it was something I discovered for myself, and it’s the path that feels most aligned with who I am and what I’m meant to give to the world.
