An Inspired Chat with Michael Mills of Galleria Area

We’re looking forward to introducing you to Michael Mills. Check out our conversation below.

Michael, we’re thrilled to have you with us today. Before we jump into your intro and the heart of the interview, let’s start with a bit of an ice breaker: What is something outside of work that is bringing you joy lately?
Outside of my shop, I have really enjoying making content. From short form content on YouTube, Instagram, Snapchat, and TikTok to even my new podcast I do with Johnny Dang called The Flawless Podcast. Also I am now in music management and manage the popular Hispanic rapper, Peso Peso and was behind him when we got his first major label record deal with Empire.

Can you briefly introduce yourself and share what makes you or your brand unique?
My name is Michael Mills and I own a well known storefront called Flawless aka Houston Closet located on the entire 2nd floor of the world famous, Johnny Dang’s. I started my business in 2016 inside my 950 sq ft apartment with $3,000 to my name and grew it into a multi million dollar shop with a big social media platform. We have around a million followers across all social media platforms from all over the world. Just in the past 12 I have personally done a billion views across all my social media platforms. In June 2025, I also brought the world famous jeweler, Johnny Dang, on board as a full time business partner and changed the name from “The Closet HTX” to “Flawless.” We have now became a destination location, conveniently located 5 minutes from the Galleria, at 6224 Richmond Ave.

Thanks for sharing that. Would love to go back in time and hear about how your past might have impacted who you are today. Who taught you the most about work?
My father, my mother, my grandparents, Johnny Dang, and my OG Paul Wall.

Was there ever a time you almost gave up?
Absolutely. My first business partners stole from me and I had to start over, then a year later my new business partners also stole everything. I went back to my little apartment, and formulated a game plan and stayed consistent. Even after they all fell off, including one who lost his life, I stayed resilient and ended up living my wildest dreams.

Next, maybe we can discuss some of your foundational philosophies and views? What’s a cultural value you protect at all costs?
Do good business, Don’t steal. Don’t cut corners. Be a man of your word. Treat others with respect and STAY humble.

Okay, so let’s keep going with one more question that means a lot to us: Are you doing what you were born to do—or what you were told to do?
I am doing what I was born to do. I am the grandson of Holocaust survivors, and have always known I was born to leave a mark on this earth. My grandparents were astute business owners so it runs in my blood. Watching how they were to all their diverse customers still resonates with me to this day.
