We’re looking forward to introducing you to Liska Sims. Check out our conversation below.
Liska , it’s always a pleasure to learn from you and your journey. Let’s start with a bit of a warmup: What is something outside of work that is bringing you joy lately?
Travel has been bringing me so much joy lately! Exploring new places, trying different foods, and connecting with people from all walks of life always gives me fresh energy and perspective.
Can you briefly introduce yourself and share what makes you or your brand unique?
I’m Liska Sims, a Realtor® with Keller Williams Southwest and founder of Liska Sims Realty Group. With over two decades of experience in both mortgage and real estate, I’m passionate about Guiding You Home—helping families through life transitions such as divorce, first-time homebuyers, and sellers navigate one of the biggest milestones of their lives with confidence and care.
What makes my work unique is that I don’t just sell homes—I help people create the next chapter of their story. My background in mortgage underwriting gives me a deep understanding of the financial side of real estate, and my heart for service keeps me focused on the people behind every transaction.
Right now, I’m focused on growing my brand and continuing to build lasting relationships within the Houston and Fort Bend County communities. Whether it’s handing over keys to a first-time buyer or helping a seller close a meaningful chapter, I love being part of those life-changing moments.
Amazing, so let’s take a moment to go back in time. Who taught you the most about work?
My mother taught me the most about work. As a single mother raising three children, she embodied resilience, discipline, and determination every single day. Watching her work hard to provide for us—and still encourage us to dream bigger—instilled in me a deep sense of purpose. She always said she wanted us to do better than she did, and that message has stayed with me throughout my career. Her example taught me that hard work isn’t just about achieving success—it’s about creating opportunities for the next generation to go further.
What did suffering teach you that success never could?
I wouldn’t say I suffered, but I did grow up with humble beginnings. I didn’t have many of the things my friends had, and that experience shaped my perspective early on. Starting work at a young age taught me responsibility and resilience. More than anything, it gave me a deep appreciation for what hard work and determination can create. That drive—born from doing more with less—taught me lessons that success alone never could.
Next, maybe we can discuss some of your foundational philosophies and views? What’s a belief or project you’re committed to, no matter how long it takes?
I’m deeply committed to helping thousands of minority families achieve homeownership—no matter how long it takes. For me, it’s about more than selling homes; it’s about creating generational stability and closing the wealth gap in our communities. I believe every family deserves the opportunity to build equity, security, and pride through homeownership, and I’m dedicated to doing my part to make that a reality—one family at a time.
Okay, we’ve made it essentially to the end. One last question before you go. What is the story you hope people tell about you when you’re gone?
I hope people say that I genuinely loved helping others and showing up for the people I cared about. I’m a people person at heart—a giver who found joy in making someone else’s life a little brighter. Whether it was through my work or my relationships, I want to be remembered for leading with love, generosity, and purpose.
