Today we’d like to introduce you to Angelia House.
Hi Angelia, we’re thrilled to have a chance to learn your story today. So, before we get into specifics, maybe you can briefly walk us through how you got to where you are today?
I knew one of my husband’s passions was to help individuals with financial literacy and one day open a Tax business so when he got deployed back in 2003 to Iraq, to keep us above waters and us back home living off just his income alone. I decided to attend H&R Block to learn and educate myself on how to surprise my husband with a fully opened Tax business and savings because coming back from Iraq I didn’t know what to expect mentally or physically so I didn’t want us to struggle for financially. After during two tours in Iraq Jerry decided to educate himself and become certified in state, federal and local taxes also and we became a husband and wife duo. Our business took off and did very well and in 2014 we moved to Humble Texas and decided to expand our business there and opened a second location. Where Angelia runs that location. Fast forward to today 22 years later AJS Taxxing Firm, LLC are well known in all 50 states. We love our clients and appreciate them every two years we give back to our clients by giving away 10 gift cards of appreciation. We look forward to see what God has for us as we continue to grow and put our clients first.
Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
Some struggles for us is when Covid hit although that was a horrible time for everyone. We lost so many clients due to deaths and clients losing their jobs and just never recovered. To this day we still haven’t fully recovered our clientele. We are slowly getting new clients and this is why we decided to give back to our clients because God is the center of our business.
As you know, we’re big fans of AJS Taxxing Firm, LLC. For our readers who might not be as familiar what can you tell them about the brand?
Our business specializes in federal and state taxes. As a family owned business we strive to follow federal and state laws.
As husband and wife we decided when we expanded our business that we are not out to take what taxpayers works so hard for during the year. Every year we choose 3 clients to do their taxes for free because why not? That’s what set us apart from any other Tax business and if we see someone owe and can’t afford to pay. We strive on pleasing our clients and making sure they see God is the center of our business. We also offer notary and book keeping.
