Today we’d like to introduce you to Joel Kapat.

Joel , we appreciate you taking the time to share your story with us today. Where does your story begin?
I am a multifaceted creative with a passion for music, branding, and interior design. My love for art has been a driving force throughout my journey. I recorded my first song in 2012, and since then, I’ve released three albums. My debut album, *Trente Ans* (French for “30 years”), was released in 2015. That same year, I launched my clothing line, *Ballin’ Out Of Control International* (BOOCI BRAND), which you can explore at www.boocibrand.com

In 2017, I followed up with my sophomore album, *Triniti-2017*, and in 2022, I released my third album, *Dinner is Ready*. Currently, I’m working on new music projects while dedicating my energy to interior design. I’m also expanding the BOOCI BRAND catalog to include furniture, blending my love for design and creativity into every endeavor.

Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
It hasn’t been a smooth road, but passion remains my driving force. One of the challenges I’ve faced is being an independent artist without the resources to fully push myself and gain the exposure needed to thrive. However, I continue to persevere, leveraging platforms like social media and other tools to keep moving forward and sharing my work with the world.

Thanks for sharing that. So, maybe next you can tell us a bit more about your work?
I’m a multifaceted creative entrepreneur with a focus on music, branding, and interior design. My work spans multiple industries, but the common thread is my passion for innovation and self-expression.

Musically, I’m a singer-songwriter and recording artist with three albums under my belt. My music style is a fusion of genres, blending elements of R&B, pop, Afrobeat, and hip-hop. I’m known for my soulful voice, introspective lyrics, and my ability to seamlessly incorporate diverse sounds, including the vibrant energy of Afrobeat, into my music.

In addition to music, I’m also the founder of BOOCI BRAND, a clothing and lifestyle brand that reflects my artistic vision and personal style. While BOOCI BRAND offers clothing, I’m not in the business of just selling clothes—BOOCI is a lifestyle. It’s about embodying and promoting a comfortable, bourgeoisie lifestyle, and that vision is at the core of everything we create.

What sets me apart from others is my unique blend of talents and experiences. As a multifaceted creative, I approach projects from different angles, bringing a fresh perspective to everything I do. My passion for innovation and self-expression drives me to continually push boundaries and explore new ideas.

I’m most proud of the fact that I’ve been able to build a career on my own terms, without compromising my artistic vision. It’s not always easy being an independent artist and entrepreneur, but it’s allowed me to stay true to myself and create work that I’m truly proud of.

What sort of changes are you expecting over the next 5-10 years?
Over the next 5–10 years, I see the industries I work in—music, fashion, and interior design—becoming more focused on individuality, sustainability, and technology. In music, I believe Afrobeat will continue to grow globally, and independent artists like myself will have even more tools to create and share music directly with fans. For BOOCI BRAND, I see a shift toward promoting lifestyle over just products, which aligns perfectly with my vision. In interior design, I think there will be more demand for personalized, functional spaces, which is something I’m excited to explore as I expand into furniture design. Overall, I’m looking forward to being part of this evolution while staying true to my creative style.
