Good morning Electa, we’re so happy to have you here with us and we’d love to explore your story and how you think about life and legacy and so much more. So let’s start with a question we often ask: What’s more important to you—intelligence, energy, or integrity?
Integrity . The question is who are you when nobody is watching? The military instilled that question in my head but made me hold myself to a better standard and be a better person especially for nothing in return or for an audience.
Can you briefly introduce yourself and share what makes you or your brand unique?
I am an owner of a barbershop in the heart of montrose here in Houston. 1st thing that makes us stand out from other shops in the area known for giving the best experience and cuts to the neighborhood especially to the lgbtq community. Having a safe space is important here in Texas and business has been built on being true to that. It’s the vibe of the shop, the clients and the barbers.
Thanks for sharing that. Would love to go back in time and hear about how your past might have impacted who you are today. What part of you has served its purpose and must now be released?
I knew my military career had served its purpose after working in a mortuary at Dover AFB. I served 6 amazing years but I found my peace with getting out and not looking back.
If you could say one kind thing to your younger self, what would it be?
Be nicer to yourself and believe in yourself!

I am absolutely doing everything I was born to do and nothing like I was told to be.
