We’re looking forward to introducing you to Kalicia Rolsal. Check out our conversation below.
Hi Kalicia, thank you for taking the time to reflect back on your journey with us. I think our readers are in for a real treat. There is so much we can all learn from each other and so thank you again for opening up with us. Let’s get into it: What is something outside of work that is bringing you joy lately?
Rollerskating is definitely bring me joy lately. It’s something I loved as a kid, and got back into a couple of years ago. I love skating outside, it’s so freeing.
Can you briefly introduce yourself and share what makes you or your brand unique?
Hello readers, my name is Kalicia, but my artist name is KittyB. The Artisan. You all can call me Kitty! I’m a multi-passionate artist. I love makeup, painting, drawing, DIYs, and recently I learned to crochet. The mediums I use most are oil pastels and acrylic paint. Most of my artwork is nature themed, but I can capture any subject that I put my mind too.
Appreciate your sharing that. Let’s talk about your life, growing up and some of topics and learnings around that. Who were you before the world told you who you had to be?
I was a creative free-spirit at an early age. However there was a time in earlier adulthood where I put my art on the back burner. Around 2018, is when I really got back into my art and expressing myself again.
If you could say one kind thing to your younger self, what would it be?
I would tell my younger self to keep the creative spirit alive and remove anyone from your circle who doesn’t quite see the vision. This would of saved me some time and stress dealing with people who ultimately meant me no good.
So a lot of these questions go deep, but if you are open to it, we’ve got a few more questions that we’d love to get your take on. What are the biggest lies your industry tells itself?
Since we’re in the age of social media, I think people believe that if you don’t have a huge online following, then you’re not successful.
Okay, we’ve made it essentially to the end. One last question before you go. When do you feel most at peace?
I feel most at peace, in the early hours of the morning. I’m talking about 2am to 4am, where it feels like the world is still sleeping. It’s so quiet and calm, and this is when I get my best ideas too!
