Autumn Rogers of North Houston on Life, Lessons & Legacy

We’re looking forward to introducing you to Autumn Rogers. Check out our conversation below.

Autumn, it’s always a pleasure to learn from you and your journey. Let’s start with a bit of a warmup: What do you think is misunderstood about your business?
As a woman who is multifaceted, I have quite a few interests that bring me happiness and allow me creative expression. I feel that is what is most misunderstood about my business, I enjoy being a woman who is full of life and grateful to showcase things i’ve learned or funny moments to brighten someone else’s day — I don’t believe there is a cap on the things I can do and create. Furthermore, a major part of my business is for women and creators who are like-minded reach their fullest potential and provide a different perspective of life.

Can you briefly introduce yourself and share what makes you or your brand unique?
I’m Autumn Rogers; Singer, Influencer, Mental Health Advocate and Faith Led, Comedian 🤍

Born and raised in Houston, Texas I write and produce R&B music that caters to like-minded women who have experienced similar situations as I have. Being a recent Bachelor’s graduate and current Master’s student, I have had more time to focus on my creative passions and growing a community in the digital space with coaching and branding services. As a Content Creator and Influencer, it is important to have a consistent brand image and representation of who you are as a person and I try to prioritize this daily. I am currently in the process of releasing E-Books, Masterclasses and Programs to enhance and grow a larger community of people who want to learn financial freedom and flexibility, while integrating spirituality into my own practices as a content creator and student!

Okay, so here’s a deep one: What part of you has served its purpose and must now be released?
Working in Mental Health has always been a passion of mine, and helping grow communities needing assistance with their mental health needs and goals. I have always had plans of opening my own practice and becoming a Marriage and Family Therapist (MFT), i’m even currently working towards a Master’s degree from University. Unfortunately, I actually just quit my job as a Qualified Mental Health Specialist (Remote Mentor), to become a Full Time content creator; a very scary and unsure experience, but most importantly a very Faithful experience. Walking away from this space has shown me that I don’t want to burn out my talents becoming complacent and stuck in a space that constantly attacks the very thing we work so hard to sustain; our mental health and wellbeing.

I want to be able to do all the things I’ve been called to do, I want to SEE the things i’ve been called to, without the feeling of “what if”? I stand firmly by the fact that what you put in, you will get out and we’re not meant to hide and sit on talents. I would like to be a role model to young girls and women who feel they are closed in a box and HAVE to be one thing, I want to show them that possibilities are endless.

If you could say one kind thing to your younger self, what would it be?
If I could tell mini Autumn something, I would tell her: “to keep going and be patient; your time is and will come! Save EVERY dollar you get though LOL.”

Sitting in my current position, everyday is a work in progress but I’m grateful and happy for the process. I’ve learned and unlearned something new everyday and can say, I feel a transformation. When you’re intentional and position yourself toward more of what you want, you can get those things. It’s often easy to overthink, but when you get out of your head and just get to work and put action behind your words, you can do damn near anything!

This includes family members and friends; they may not be able to get into where you’re going. Be vigilant of this, and remain mindful but always stay true to YOURSELF, first.

Sure, so let’s go deeper into your values and how you think. Is the public version of you the real you?
I believe in authenticity; something we lose more of everyday, as shown in the media. I have to be the real me online and offline, because it’s too expensive to be and act like someone else. Most times people want what others have, but never understand the work that was required to get to those places. I pride myself in being the only version of me, and love the fact that I’m the ONLY ONE created like me — so this is who I am, through and through. I love it here 🤩

Okay, we’ve made it essentially to the end. One last question before you go. What will you regret not doing?
I’ll regret not speaking up in more opportunities that were right at my finger tips; I would snatch the microphone when they invite live singers to join in on a song, i’ll increase my prices to build my braid business and debunk all the things other stylists are doing + a multitude of other things. I want to be remembered for my authenticity and not for something i’m not called to be. I’ll regret not cutting people and family off sooner, if I can be frank; their your biggest haters! They know you the most, so they can judge you the “best”. Outside of this, I dont regret one decision I’ve made because everything that happened in the past, has contributed to my present and future.
