We’re looking forward to introducing you to BRIANNALYSE . Check out our conversation below.
Hi BRIANNALYSE , thank you so much for taking time out of your busy day to share your story, experiences and insights with our readers. Let’s jump right in with an interesting one: What is a normal day like for you right now?
A normal day for me right now consists of me working as a registered behavioral therapist, teaching children who have autism which Im extremely passionate about. Just after work I have been writing and recording my second album as an independent artist. On the weekends I’ve been enjoying performing some of the tracks for my upcoming album or spending time with my family and friends. I feel very blessed to be in a constant flow of acquiring new inspiration for upcoming projects, sharing them with my audience, and spending as much time as I have with my loved ones.
Can you briefly introduce yourself and share what makes you or your brand unique?
My name is Briannalyse, I’m a singer, songwriter, vocal producer, and performance artist born and raised in Houston Texas. I’m an independent artist. I have been singing all of my life and cultivating my craft and pursuing a music career more seriously for about six years now. I think that what makes me unique is my ability to fully lean into my emotions and express my understanding or lack there of through my music. I’m currently working on a 90s and early 2000s inspired R&B album, titled “Womanhood” which essentially is a sequel of my first album “The Girl Next Door.” that included more modernized R&B.
Amazing, so let’s take a moment to go back in time. Who were you before the world told you who you had to be?
Wholeheartedly I was a girl who loved music and the art of performance. I believe the world begins to leave a lasting impression on all of our dreams. Whether that be due to someone casting doubt over them or us simply believing too much in the practicalities of what we were made to believe life should look like. I also believe we begin to doubt ourselves as a means of protection. Maybe we fear actually going for our dreams or we fear others seeing us go for them. I do believe that now I am much more rooted in who I was before the world began to tell me anything about who I should be instead.
When did you stop hiding your pain and start using it as power?
I believe when I was able to experience the way that it would transform me to witness others that used their pain as power is when I began to do the same. Through my music, I began using my pain as power because I can communicate very eloquently through writing and through music. After being in a relationship and being cheated on I liked how transmuting that pain boosted my overall confidence and I had a constant craving to do it all over again for anything else that were to cause me any pain moving forward.
I think our readers would appreciate hearing more about your values and what you think matters in life and career, etc. So our next question is along those lines. Is the public version of you the real you?
Absolutely. I exist in two completely different extremes. I’m reserved sometimes, shy, silly, and at the same time I maintain a heightened sense of confidence, I can be loud, bold, expressive, and energetic. Both are one hundred percent me what you see is what you get. I believe as I have embraced the essence of who I truly am life has gotten better in so many ways.
Thank you so much for all of your openness so far. Maybe we can close with a future oriented question. If you knew you had 10 years left, what would you stop doing immediately?
I would immediately stop procrastinating the things I want to learn and the chances I want to take. I wouldn’t take anything for granted. Which is funny, I should live that way daily.
