Can you briefly introduce yourself and share what makes you or your brand unique?
Hello, I am MayrA Malik owner of Simple Beauty Artistry. Simple Beauty Artistry was established in 2010 and has grown tremendously with a team of 22 hair and makeup artist leading in the beauty industry. We offer on location or in-studio hair and makeup services for all occasions. Our goal is to not only provide exceptional hair and makeup services to all our clients but to provide a memorable, fun, and stress free experience while getting your hair and makeup done.
Great, so let’s dive into your journey a bit more. Who taught you the most about work?
I have to say that my parents taught me the most about work. They always instilled in me to do what I love. Early on I knew that I wanted to make people look and feel beautiful. Whether that was for a a wedding, a birthday party, or even at their passing. My parents taught me to never give up and work hard for what I want. Failures come with life and it’s not about how many times you fail but how many times you get back up and keep trying. Never give up up on your dreams but work hard for them and you will accomplish everything you ever wanted. That when you do what you truly love you will never work a day in your life.
What fear has held you back the most in your life?
The fear of failure has always held be back at some point in my journey. The thought of, what if I am not successful? What if I invest all this money with no return? What if I let my family down. The what if was always in the aback if my mind and held men back sometimes but I learned that without the risk there is no reward. Id rather say I tried that wonder what if.
Sure, so let’s go deeper into your values and how you think. Is the public version of you the real you?
fortunately or unfortunately yes! I understand I am not everyone’s cup of tea but what you see is what you get. My team and I like to provide an experience. You have to understand that at a wedding, a quince, a birthday party we as the artist set the tone. You best believe that I come in at 9 am with 4 shots of espresso jamming Cardi B in the morning. I am a vibe and my clients love that and I love them for accepting me for who I am. I don’t filter much and I am who I am and love and appreciate that my clients accept me for who I am and what I have to offer.
Before we go, we’d love to hear your thoughts on some longer-run, legacy type questions. What is the story you hope people tell about you when you’re gone?
This is a heavy question, I would hope this people say what I good person I was. How I truly loved what I did making many men and women look and feel beautiful. But also motivated and inspired new and aspiring artists to follow their passion and never give up. I want to people to share how I helped those round me with no hate or competition in mind but only love and passion. Tell others how I love to smile an laugh but most importantly make other laugh and smile.
