Today we’d like to introduce you to Maritza Gonzales.
Alright, so thank you so much for sharing your story and insight with our readers. To kick things off, can you tell us a bit about how you got started?
When I was six months old we moved to the US from Mexico, My dad worked hard to support our family of nine kids while my mom stayed home to take care of us. Growing up, the kindness of our community helpd carry my family forward. When I was finally in a position to give back I made sure to start supporting our community in need.
I’m sure it wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been fairly smooth so far?
Growing up with very limited resources taught me resilience early on. There were many moments when the path forward wasn’t clear, and opportunities didn’t come easily. I had to learn how to work harder, adapt faster, and stay focused even when the odds felt stacked against me. Those experiences shaped my work ethic and determination, and they’re a big part of why I value where I am today and never take growth or opportunity for granted.
Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know about your work?
I work alongside my husband at our law firm, where I lead our community outreach efforts. Having grown up with limited resources, giving back is deeply personal to me. I’m especially proud of the boards I serve on, and events I have chaired which allow me to support and uplift communities in need. Being able to turn my experiences into meaningful service is one of the most rewarding parts of my work.
So maybe we end on discussing what matters most to you and why?
Family matters most to me, and that belief is at the heart of everything I do. Being able to help families and children in need is incredibly important, and it’s a responsibility I take to heart both personally and professionally.
