Hi Johnny , thank you so much for taking time out of your busy day to share your story, experiences and insights with our readers. Let’s jump right in with an interesting one: What is a normal day like for you right now?
A normal day looks like waking up to my cat meowing getting a cup of coffee, turning on a sermon and then turning on the news and just taking it one day at a time
Can you briefly introduce yourself and share what makes you or your brand unique?
I’m Johnny Forte, better known as Fortecloud; a Houston-based DJ, curator, and creative who blends emo nostalgia, house, hip-hop, and jazz into immersive experiences. My brand bridges eras, Y2K blog energy meets modern sound design, and my events like After Jazzz and DeepCuts bring together live musicians, burlesque, and underground culture under one roof. What makes Fortecloud unique is how I fuse visual art, storytelling, and music into a cohesive atmosphere that feels cinematic, emotional, and deeply local. Right now, I’m focused on expanding my event series, designing merch, and building an ecosystem that celebrates individuality and community through sound and style.
Thanks for sharing that. Would love to go back in time and hear about how your past might have impacted who you are today. What did you believe about yourself as a child that you no longer believe?
That I’ll be alone
What fear has held you back the most in your life?
The biggest fear I have in my life is airplanes. I just don’t like them. Well I wouldn’t even save the airplane itself. Maybe it’s the fear of not being in control since I am a driver of multiple vehicles. I just like to be in control of things, but I just never liked airplanes, but if I can get over the fear of flying, I’ll probably be way more successful than I am right now.

Okay, we’ve made it essentially to the end. One last question before you go. What do you think people will most misunderstand about your legacy?
People might misunderstand that my legacy isn’t just about music ;it’s about healing. I’ve always created for the ones who felt alone, overlooked, or misunderstood the ones who needed a place to feel seen again. Through sound and community, I try to turn pain into connection. I might come off a little brash at times, but that’s just passion I’m honest about who I am. You either love me or you don’t, but most people feel the love once they really get it. My goal has always been to build something that helps people find themselves again, even if just for one night
