We recently had the chance to connect with Immanie Rogers and have shared our conversation below.
Immanie, really appreciate you sharing your stories and insights with us. The world would have so much more understanding and empathy if we all were a bit more open about our stories and how they have helped shaped our journey and worldview. Let’s jump in with a fun one: Are you walking a path—or wandering?
I would say I’m definitely on a walking path because I have goals in place as well as timelines I have set for myself that would need to be achieved.
Once I have my mind set on something I want to do, I typically do not leave it alone until it’s been completed.
I can admit I did wander for a while because I knew I wanted to be my own boss and that working for someone else wasn’t my final stop. It took me a while to find the right person to guide me and once that happened, I soared from there!
Can you briefly introduce yourself and share what makes you or your brand unique?
I am Immanie! I am the founder of The Immanie Effect. I am a corporate girl with a full time job while juggling being a lash supplier and lash artist.
What makes my brand different from others is that I am able to run an entire business while working a full time job. I have products that not only are beginner and advanced friendly but they speak for themselves with the continuous quality they provide. When I have restocks done with my products I ensure the names, the products themselves, and even the artwork on them is different from what I see others doing in the lash industry.
A little backstory on how I even got to where I am today. I originally began as a self taught lash tech four years ago. After finally teaching myself I decided to go on and get licensed to do lashes. While in school to get licensed I became a brand ambassador for the first time and decided to take social media more seriously. After I completed school I started getting noticed more and became a brand ambassador for multiple brands. The one thing I always made sure of was to be a brand ambassador for solo suppliers and not huge brands, I cared more about the actual relationship it provided. All of 2025 I grew my name at a rapid pace with my lash artistry and support I provided within the lash community. Also, I was a top earner while being a brand ambassador for the brands I represented and stayed there on a consistent basis. I then decided to step away from being a brand ambassador after being taught a lesson that some lash suppliers only care about how much money you help them make and not the willingness to support them as a lash artist. Once I began focusing solely on me being a solo lash artist, I began to secure a mentor, and then started my lash supply line. Almost 6 months later and here I am and extremely proud of putting myself and my brand first!
Great, so let’s dive into your journey a bit more. What did you believe about yourself as a child that you no longer believe?
What I believed about myself as a child that I no longer believe is that I don’t have to work for someone else just to potentially get successful or make a living just to get by.
What’s something you changed your mind about after failing hard?
Something that changed my mind after failing hard was conducting business with “friends” should almost never happen without binding contracts and actual agreements. I learned that once money comes into play, situations get muddy or I was able to see what I never saw before.
I did a project with another person and the project meant a lot to me as to the reason behind it and why I wanted to start it. After things got rocky then they failed to keep our promise on doing the money donation we promised to the public by trying to pocket all the money that we earned. Once I was finally able to get some sort of payout, I made the donation because I am big on keeping my word and following through with it too.
So I go on to say many things can fail but there’s a reason why it’s always been said that if you do anything pertaining to business, to do it alone. I am honestly glad I personally learned that lesson because it is one that I will keep throughout my lifetime.
Next, maybe we can discuss some of your foundational philosophies and views? What would your closest friends say really matters to you?
What they would say matters to me the most is my family as well as always standing up for myself even if that means I’m doing it alone. They would also say I push them to speak up for themselves and making others laugh and feel comfortable in the same space I am holds a lot of importance to me.
Okay, so before we go, let’s tackle one more area. Are you doing what you were born to do—or what you were told to do?
I am doing what I was born to do! I always wanted to do something cosmetic or beauty wise, I just never knew what exactly until I started seeing lashes take a bigger presence on social media. Once that happened I because obsessed with lashes and never looked back!
Also, I will say that I didn’t always stick to doing what I have been told to do because I always had other goals and views about things when it came to being successful. If it’s something I don’t like or agree with, I will definitely speak up. Always speak up, someone somewhere is listening!
