Hi Elizabeth, can you start by introducing yourself? We’d love to learn more about how you got to where you are today?
My journey into the massage industry was inspired by someone very special to me — my partner, whom I lovingly call “Aunt Lynn.” Her real name is Vannarin Ferraro. She has successfully owned and operated Thai Healing Massage Center in Rice Village for over 15 years. Watching her build a respected, thriving practice rooted in authentic Thai healing left a lasting impression on me.
I earned my Bachelor of Science in Finance from Santa Clara University and have worked in the medical field since 2005, serving as a Practice Manager for multiple specialty groups across The Woodlands and Tomball. Throughout my career, my focus has remained on patient-centered care, operational efficiency, and fostering meaningful relationships within the community. Because of my work ethic, business knowledge, marketing experience, and natural ability to connect with people, Aunt Lynn saw an opportunity to combine our strengths — her deep expertise in traditional Thai massage and my experience in healthcare operations — to bring something truly special to Tomball community.
That vision became AURA Therapeutic Thai Massage.
Our goal was to create more than just a massage spa. We wanted to build a therapeutic, luxury experience rooted in authentic Thai techniques, where clients feel genuinely cared for — not just treated. Today, AURA represents the blending of generations of healing knowledge with modern business excellence, all centered around helping our community feel their best.
We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
Nothing worth building ever comes without challenges. Opening AURA was no exception. From navigating permits and build-outs to establishing operations and, most importantly, finding the right therapists who truly align with our standards and values, the journey required patience, persistence, and trust in the process.
Those challenges ultimately shaped who we are. They reinforced the importance of doing things the right way, not the fast way — and that intention has made all the difference.
Now, just five months in, we feel incredibly blessed. The therapists we’ve brought on are truly the heart of AURA, and working hand-in-hand with them each day to deliver quality, personalized care has been one of the most meaningful and rewarding parts of this journey.
We’ve been impressed with AURA Therapeutic Thai Massage, but for folks who might not be as familiar, what can you share with them about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
AURA Therapeutic Thai Massage was created with a vision of bringing authentic Thai healing traditions to Tomball and the surrounding communities. We wanted to create a peaceful, refined space where people can step away from the stresses of everyday life and allow their bodies to truly relax, reset, and heal.
Our Signature Thai Massage, blends traditional Thai techniques with deep tissue work, Swedish massage, assisted stretching, and optional walking and hot stones. Each session is thoughtfully customized to the individual.
What truly sets AURA apart is the level of care and intention behind every detail. Our therapists are highly skilled and licensed professionals who take the time to listen to each client before beginning a session. We focus on personalized therapeutic care rather than a routine or one-size-fits-all approach.
Brand-wise, I’m most proud of the atmosphere we’ve created. From the moment guests walk through our doors, they’re welcomed with genuine warmth by our team. Our goal is for every person who visits AURA to immediately feel a sense of calm, comfort, and care.
Our clients come to us with everything from chronic neck, shoulder, and back pain to couples simply wanting time to relax and reconnect. Seeing them leave feeling better — physically and emotionally — is the greatest reward.
What are your plans for the future?
As a newer business, our focus is on building strong relationships within the Tomball community and establishing AURA as a trusted place for therapeutic care, wellness and relaxation. Looking ahead, we hope to grow our team of skilled therapists and expand our services to include Gua sha facial massage, so we can support even more people in their wellness journey. Most of all, we’re excited to continue refining the AURA experience—creating a place where guests can step away from daily stress and leave feeling renewed and cared for. Reading the reviews on our Google page is especially meaningful to me. Every review reminds us that we’re making a positive impact, and it inspires us to continue raising our standards every single day.
