Today we’d like to introduce you to Monica Swint,BSN,RN.
Hi Monica, please kick things off for us with an introduction to yourself and your story.
Long before I ever held a syringe or stepped onto a stage, I was a little girl on the west side of New Orleans with my eyes fixed on something most of her neighbors hadn’t yet named: beauty as a calling. The west side of New Orleans rich with culture, resilience, and a particular brand of Southern elegance shaped me in ways that no classroom ever could. I watched the women around me transform themselves through ritual and artistry, and knew, even then, that I was meant to be part of that world.
Beauty found me in grade school, I was doing hair before I had any business doing hair. But I loved it I loved what it did for people. The way someone would walk out standing a little taller. That early enchantment never faded. Instead, it evolved, expanded, and eventually collided with another passion: healthcare.
I never saw nursing and beauty as two different worlds. They were always the same thing to me taking care of people, making them feel whole.
I went on to earn a Bachelors of Science and spent over 18 years building a nursing career defined by precision, empathy, and an eye for innovation. But the beauty industry is the one I fell in love with as a child. Rather than choose between two loves, I built a bridge. Today, as the founder of Monica Swint Consulting, we pioneer advanced intravenous education for nurses and revolutionizes med spa business strategies on a national stage.
My trajectory reads like something New Orleans itself would dream up: audacious, layered, and impossibly cool. As a published author, my book “Nursing Your Way” has become a touchstone for healthcare professionals navigating their own ambitions . A sought-after keynote speaker whose audiences span beauty brands globally and beauty industry summits alike. Moving between these worlds with the confidence of someone who always knew they belonged in both.
What drives me traces back to those early years in New Orleans. “Growing up where I grew up, you learn that you have to be resourceful. You learn that excellence is not optional it’s survival, it’s pride, it’s love. New Orleans made me, Beauty shaped me And medicine gave me the language to translate it all into a legacy.

We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
Then there was the challenge of straddling two worlds. When I went into nursing, people in the beauty industry looked at me sideways like I was abandoning something. And when I brought my beauty background into healthcare spaces, some people didn’t take me seriously. I lived in that in-between for a long time, feeling like I had to constantly prove that both passions were legitimate, that they weren’t in conflict that they were, in fact, my superpower.
Building Monica Swint Consulting didn’t happen overnight either. Entrepreneurship has a way of humbling you fast. There were financial pressures, moments of self-doubt, clients I lost, contracts that fell through. There were seasons where I questioned whether I had moved too fast or dreamed too big. But every single one of those hard moments shaped the consultant, the speaker, and the author I am today.
Great, so let’s talk business. Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
Monica Swint Consulting exists at the intersection of clinical excellence and business strategy and that intersection is exactly where I’ve always lived. At its core, my company does two very powerful things: I help med spa owners grow, scale, and ultimately sell their practices through practical, real-world solutions, and I help physicians and medical practices integrate IV hydration therapy as a profitable revenue stream.
What I want people to understand is that this isn’t theory. I’m not coming to your business with a generic playbook I pulled off a shelf. I’ve lived inside healthcare. I’ve lived inside beauty. I know what it feels like to build something from nothing, to sit across from a banker, to wonder whether this dream is going to work. So when I sit across from a med spa owner or a physician, I bring 17 years of nursing expertise and 30 years of beauty industry knowledge to that conversation — and that combination is something you simply cannot find anywhere else.
I specialize in two lanes and both of them are deeply needed right now in this industry.
IV Hydration Integration
I guide doctors and medical practices through launching IV hydration therapy from clinical protocols and nurse training to compliance, pricing, and patient experience.
Med Spa Growth & Scale
I work alongside med spa owners to build the operational systems, revenue strategies, and leadership foundations needed to grow and eventually exit on their own terms.
Speaking & Education
As a professional speaker and published author, I train and inspire healthcare professionals nationwide through keynotes, workshops, and my book, Nursing Your Way.
Most business consultants come from business. Most healthcare consultants come from healthcare. I come from both and I’ve worked in both at the highest levels. That’s the differentiator that nobody else can replicate.
When I walk into a med spa, I don’t just see the marketing or the revenue numbers. I see the clinical workflow, the patient safety gaps, the nurse retention issues, the service menu missed opportunities. I see all of it because I’ve been a nurse in those rooms and a strategist at that table. My clients don’t have to hire a clinical expert and a business consultant separately. They get both in one voice, one relationship, one vision.
And beyond the credentials I lead with heart. I grew up on the west side of New Orleans. I know what it means to work twice as hard for half the recognition. That shapes how I show up for every single client. I am invested in their win because I know what it costs to build something real.
I am most proud that my brand represents possibility. When a med spa owner who is overwhelmed and overworked finds me, they don’t just get a consultant they get a partner who genuinely believes their practice can thrive. When a physician wants to add IV hydration but doesn’t know where to start, they don’t just get a program they get a guide who has done the work and knows the pitfalls.
What I want your readers to know is this: whether you are a med spa owner trying to scale to your next location, a physician ready to diversify your revenue, or a nurse with a dream bigger than your current job description there is a place for you in what I’ve built. Monica Swint Consulting was created for the bold ones. The ones who are done playing small.
Is there a quality that you most attribute to your success?
If I had to narrow it down to one word, it would be authenticity. But let me explain what I mean by that because it goes much deeper than just “being yourself.”
Authenticity, for me, is the courage to show up as the full version of who you are in every room you walk into not the edited version, not the version you think people want to see, but the complete, unapologetic truth of you. I am a Black woman from the west side of New Orleans who became a registered nurse and a beauty industry veteran and an entrepreneur and an author. Every single one of those identities walks into the room with me. And early on, I tried to shrink some of them depending on who I was talking to. I’d downplay the beauty side in clinical spaces. I’d minimize the nursing background in business rooms. And every time I did that, something fell flat because people can feel when you’re not whole.
“The moment I stopped editing myself for the room and started trusting that all of me was the asset everything changed.”
