Today we’d like to introduce you to Brett Christoffel.
Brett, we appreciate you taking the time to share your story with us today. Where does your story begin?
I started All Y’alls Foods after a major personal shift in how I viewed food, animals, and health. As a Texan, starting a jerky company made sense, but making it from plants was the twist. I wanted to create something with the flavor, chew, and satisfaction people love, but in a way that was more compassionate and better aligned with where the world is headed.
Since launching in 2018, what began as a bold idea has grown into a mission-driven brand sold in hundreds of stores and online, with customers across the U.S. and beyond. Today, we’re focused on building a smarter protein brand that delivers bold flavor, real satisfaction, and a bigger purpose.
Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
Not at all. Like most entrepreneurial journeys, it’s been rewarding, but definitely not smooth.
One of the biggest challenges was launching a plant-based jerky company in Texas, where many people understandably associate jerky with beef and tradition. Early on, we had to work hard not just to sell a product, but to help people rethink what jerky could be.
On top of that, building a food brand comes with all the usual hurdles, limited resources, cash flow pressure, production issues, retail expansion challenges, and the constant need to stand out in a crowded market.
There were also moments when growth took longer than I wanted, or when certain opportunities didn’t develop the way I had hoped. But every challenge forced us to get clearer about who we are, what makes us different, and where we can win. In many ways, the struggles helped shape the brand just as much as the successes.
Thanks – so what else should our readers know about your work and what you’re currently focused on?
I’m known for pairing strong storytelling with a clear sense of purpose and a willingness to challenge convention. I specialize in building connections between brand and customer, mission and market, and big ideas and practical growth.
What I’m most proud of is creating something with real heart, while still keeping it accessible and relevant. What sets me apart is a mix of persistence, creativity, and conviction. I’ve stayed committed to an unconventional idea and kept pushing it forward in a way that feels authentic to who we are.
Who else deserves credit in your story?
Yes, absolutely. I’ve been blessed to have a lot of people help me along the way, because no one builds a business like this by themselves.
I’ve had mentors, advisors, friends, supporters, customers, and teammates who believed in the company and in me at different stages. Some offered guidance, some opened doors, some gave honest feedback, and some were simply there to encourage me when things got hard. That support has meant more than I can say, especially when you’re building something that doesn’t always fit the expected mold.
I’d also absolutely mention Dr. Rizwan Bukhari. He is a vascular surgeon, our first outside investor, a board member, and our Medical Director. His belief in what we’re building was deeply meaningful to me, and his involvement brought both encouragement and a real sense of credibility to the business.
And then there are all the people who have supported the brand through their actions – customers who took a chance on us, partners who helped us grow, and teammates who have put their hearts into the work. Every one of them has played a role in helping us get where we are today, and I’m genuinely grateful for that.
