Today we’d like to introduce you to Shannon Briley.
Hi Shannon, so excited to have you on the platform. So before we get into questions about your work-life, maybe you can bring our readers up to speed on your story and how you got to where you are today?
I was an educator for many years, and my experience working with students inspired my passion for helping young people grow and succeed. When the opportunity came for me to become the Program Director at Face to Face Enrichment Center, I saw it as a chance to expand my impact beyond the classroom. Today, I’m grateful to be in a role where I can support youth, work with families, build community partnerships, and help create opportunities that make a difference in the lives of others.
Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
It has not always been a smooth road. One of the biggest challenges has been adjusting from being a teacher to taking on the responsibilities of a Program Director. I had to learn how to manage programs, staff, partnerships, and community needs while continuing to make sure our youth received the support they deserve. There have been times when resources, funding, and staffing have been challenging, but those experiences have taught me to be flexible, persistent, and creative. Each challenge has helped me grow as a leader and reminded me why the work we do at Face to Face Enrichment Center is so important.
Appreciate you sharing that. What else should we know about what you do?
As the Program Director at Face to Face Enrichment Center, I focus on opportunities that support youth, families, and the community. My background as an educator allows me to bring a strong understanding of students’ academic, social, and emotional needs into the work we do.
I’m especially passionate about mentoring, enrichment, tutoring, and creating positive experiences that help young people build confidence and recognize their potential. I’m most proud of seeing young people grow, become more confident, and know that they have people in their corner supporting them.
What sets me apart is that I genuinely care about the people we serve. I believe in building relationships, listening to the needs of our community, and finding ways to make a meaningful impact. For me, this work is more than a job—it’s about helping build stronger communities, one person at a time.
How do you think about happiness?
What makes me happy is knowing that I’m making a difference in someone’s life. Whether it’s seeing a young person gain confidence, reach a goal, or simply knowing that I was able to encourage someone when they needed it most, those moments mean a lot to me. I also enjoy working with my team and being part of something bigger than myself. Helping others grow and creating positive opportunities in the community brings me a strong sense of purpose and fulfillment.
