Today we’d like to introduce you to Luis Anzures.
Hi Luis, so excited to have you on the platform. So before we get into questions about your work-life, maybe you can bring our readers up to speed on your story and how you got to where you are today?
I was part of a family owned place, my dad started in Mexico selling on a 5ft x 6ft little shack, then grew it to be a 7 location full size fastfood mexican restaurant, my older brother and I brought it to the US 17 years ago, and grew it to have 5 locations and added more in Mexico as well.
in 2023 I had to separate from the family business due to some irregularities and me not liking how things where being done and started from zero, my wife and I began selling tacos on a food truck in 2019 and went through several rough patches, specially when the pandemic hit, we almost lost everything after, by the grace of GOD we didnt and were able to secure a small brick and mortar place, started our own restaurant 3 years ago.
now weve been in business for 3 years as a B&M restaurant, and have 3 food trucks, and looking to keep on growing, trying to hire the right people to help us accomplish that goal.
We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
it deffenetly hasnt been a smooth ride at all.
leaving my family business, leaving my dad and older brother was a very hard time for me, and double the hardship for my wife and kids.
surviving the pandemic wasnt easy either.
then trying to find a place for a B&M was a struggle.
loosing our house and cars, was tough but going through the health scares of our children was the hardest.

my Wife deserves more than the credit I do, alongside our oldest son, they both stepped up when I needed help in the restaurant business and have been pushing me to keep going and where my strength and rock when my knees where week and trembling.
