Today we’d like to introduce you to Keycha V Dorsey.
Keycha V, we appreciate you taking the time to share your story with us today. Where does your story begin?
My name is Keycha V Dorsey. I wear many hats. I am a wife, mother, minister & prayer warrior, advocate & panelist for women’s mental, emotional & spiritual health, published authoress, actress, model for a cause, event & red carpet host, lyricist, play writer, aspiring pageant queen, play writer & future film maker! I just wrote a stage play called, “A Girlfriend’s Christmas.” I created The BWB MOVEMENT. Balance, wisdom and boundaries. This is for women (especially over the age of 40) who are trying to live out their dreams & goals while parenting at a more “seasoned” age. Wow, that’s a lot of hats but the one that is attached to my heart is being a mother! My second joy is being God’s representative. I needed a life, so God gave me one through sending His only son! My son, Trent is my ministry & I look forward to being at his wedding & taking my grandchildren for long weekends! The half has not been told!
Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
Definitely not. I have gone through a previous divorce that shook me to the core. He was my life line but looking back, that was so out of order as a human being and the person was lost himself & was not sent to me by God. God had greater plans for me. So there was no love lost. As a result of this divorce, I was displaced over 3 cities. I was basically homeless for a moment. I also have suffered 15 miscarriages and 1 stillbirth.
Thanks – so what else should our readers know about your work and what you’re currently focused on?
I have worked in education for over 5 years , mixed with childcare over the last 20 plus years; as I owned my own facility for 7 successful years. But now I am spending lots of time building my media platform through acting, writing, event hosting, modeling content creating.
What’s next?
I am working on leaving a legacy to my son ( and my daughter that I am still praying for!) by means of media. Hmmmm, I guess still desiring a child at 54 is the big plan! I just started working on my non profit organization, which will be rewarding for my community. My son and I are preparing for a pageant next year in Nashville. This is through Authentique Beauties. My son is a Gem and I am an ambassador & delegate. Lastly, I am currently creating a mini series. It’s clean, hood comedy with a Christian twist!
