Today we’d like to introduce you to Christina Capuchino.
Alright, so thank you so much for sharing your story and insight with our readers. To kick things off, can you tell us a bit about how you got started?
Five years ago, my husband and I were given a gift we will never take for granted—a second chance at life.
During the COVID pandemic, my husband became critically ill, and I was hospitalized with double pneumonia before being transferred to Baptist Medical Center in San Antonio. I spent nearly two weeks in the hospital and, by the grace of God, was spared from being placed on a ventilator. That experience forever changed my perspective on life.
After surviving, I realized something I had always known but had never fully embraced: life is beautiful, life is precious, and life is incredibly short.
I once heard a pastor say, “You only have one life to live, but if you live it right, once is enough.” Another sermon reminded me that while there is “a time to be born and a time to die,” what truly matters is what we do with the dash in between. Those words resonated with me deeply.
My husband and I had always dreamed of owning a coffee shop. With the last name Capuchino, people would joke that we were destined to be in the coffee business. But for years, it remained just that—a dream that felt far away.
After COVID, we decided we couldn’t keep waiting. We wanted to live intentionally and pursue the dream God had placed in our hearts.
At the end of 2023, we took our first step by purchasing a vintage 1979 Chevrolet P-20 step van that we lovingly named “Grace.” She became home to our first business, Capuchino’s Taste and See Coffee. Looking back now, I truly believe the Lord was directing our steps one faithful step at a time, preparing us for where we are today.
Today, we have the privilege of serving our community at Be Humble Coffee Co., a dream that has become a testimony of God’s faithfulness. We have watched Him open doors we never could have opened ourselves and provide in ways we never imagined. Every milestone has reminded us that when we trust the Lord and walk in obedience, He is faithful to guide our steps.
Our coffee shop is housed in a beautiful old home built in 1915 in the heart of Downtown Humble. I often tell people she’s an “oldie but goodie” with great bones. Long before becoming Be Humble Coffee Co., she wore many different hats, including serving as a charming tea room. In fact, it’s the very same house where we celebrated our daughter’s fourth birthday years ago. Today, our espresso machine sits in the very room where those memories were made—a reminder that God often writes stories more beautifully than we ever could.
As someone born and raised in Humble, Texas, I knew that if we were ever blessed with a brick-and-mortar location, I wanted it to be here, in the community that helped shape me. I also prayed for something that many people thought was unusual—I didn’t want a storefront in a shopping center. I prayed for a house because I wanted everyone who walked through our doors to feel like they were coming home.
God answered that prayer.
Be Humble Coffee Co. has never been just about coffee. Our prayer has always been that it would be a place where people feel welcomed, seen, encouraged, and loved. Whether someone comes in to celebrate life’s joys, work remotely, read a book, pray quietly, or simply enjoy a cup of coffee with a friend, we hope they leave feeling a little lighter than when they arrived.
If our story encourages anyone, I hope it’s this: don’t be afraid to trust God with the dream He’s placed in your heart. It may not happen in your timing or in the way you imagine, but His plans are always greater than our own. We are living proof that what once seemed impossible can become reality through faith, perseverance, and the grace of God.

Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
Opening our first brick and mortar has been an eye opening experience. We have learned so much in our first 10 months of being open since we have always worked for corporate America. Being self employed is rewarding and challenging, putting in many long hours working behind the scenes from buying milk, ice, and all supplies that are needed daily to keep up with the demand but we are thankful to have this amazing opportunity. Having to learn all things from SOP’s, taxes and all business related things is the not so fun part but it’s definitely necessary.
Great, so let’s talk business. Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
Be Humble began with a vision and a dream 5 years ago in 2021 during the height of covid. What once seemed like a far away dream, God impressed on our hearts to follow the vision He gave to us.
After being discharged from Baptist Medical Hospital in San Antonio, TX in August of 2021, I was sent home on oxygen recovering from double pneumonia and with a new lease on life and an urgency to live life to the fullest holding nothing back.
I recall our Pastor once say, “we only have one life to live, but if we live it once, once is enough.”
My husband and I always talked about owning a coffee shop, being that coffee was literally in our last name, Capuchino, spelt different from the well- known Italian Cappuccino coffee but pronounced the same.
We took our first leap of faith by purchasing the 1979 Vintage coffee truck, that we named “Grace” we worked private events on the weekends since we both worked our regular full time jobs so it was a fun side job.
It wasn’t until May of 2025 that the little blue Humble house on First St. came available right after I gave my resignation from the medical field at the end of April, God opened the next door to walk through.
This is when “Be Humble Coffee Co.” journey began.
Networking and finding a mentor can have such a positive impact on one’s life and career. Any advice?
Yes! For me it’s extremely important and needed especially for myself not having a history of being self-employed and walking into an unfamiliar territory it’s also most helpful to have the wisdom and guidance from others who can help navigate and give advice of what is to come. I’m especially thankful for my church community who have offered a helping hand and support since day one.
